Marry Me (2021 Film)
''Marry Me'' is a 2022 American romantic comedy-Drama film, drama film directed by Kat Coiro, with a screenplay by John Rogers (writer), John Rogers, Tami Sagher, and Harper Dill. Based on the 2012 graphic novel of the same title by Bobby Crosby, it stars Jennifer Lopez as Kat Valdez, a pop star, who decides to marry Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson), a math teacher holding a "Marry Me" sign, after learning that her on-stage bridegroom Bastian (Maluma) has been having an affair. John Bradley (English actor), John Bradley, Sarah Silverman, Ricky Guillart, and Chloe Coleman also star in supporting roles. The film was announced in April 2019, with Lopez and Wilson set to star and Coiro joining the project as director. Universal Pictures acquired the film distribution rights in July 2019. Principal photography took place in Manhattan in October and November 2019. A Marry Me (soundtrack), soundtrack album of the same name by Lopez and Maluma was also produced. Kat Coiro is an American filmmaker known for directing Marry Me (2022 film), ''Marry Me'', a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, and Malumaa box-office success for Universal Pictures in 2022. She directed and executive produced ''She-Hulk: Attorney at Law'', co-executive produced and directed the pilot episodes of the television series ''Girls5eva, Girls5Eva'', ''Florida Girls,'' and many other television shows. Early life Coiro was born in Manhattan to parents Peter Eves and Gina Cunningham-Eves, who are of English and Italian American descent. Her sister, Emmy Eves, later became a production designer and worked as an art director on Coiro's first movie, ''Life Happens''. Her godmother, Katharine Kean, co-directed the 1992 documentary ''Haiti: Killing the Dream'' with Rudi Stern and starring Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
