Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation
Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation was established in 2001 by Prince Moulay Rachid who acts as president. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and was incorporated due to lack of opportunities for creative talents in cinematography. The Foundation is distinguished as the host of the annual Marrakech International Film Festival. The purview of MIFF Foundation is very broad. The Foundation brings together emerging film talents from diverse Moroccan, African, Arab, and International communities to network, dialogue, share, support and critique each other's work. For that reason, the Foundation has focused its activities to facilitate a forum where filmmakers and other film artists can interact and pitch their ideas to producers and investors. Prince Moulay Rachid
Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco, also known as Prince Moulay Rachid ben al-Hassan, ( ar, الأمير مولاي رشيد بن الحسن; born ) is a member of the Alawi dynasty. He was the youngest male child of the late King Hassan II and his wife, Lalla Latifa Hammou. He holds a doctorate in international politics and serves Morocco as a diplomat, including attending the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. He is currently second in the line of succession to the Moroccan throne. Marrakech International Film Festival
The Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) ( ar, المهرجان الدولي للفيلم بمراكش, Amazigh ⴰⵏⵎⵓⴳⴳⴰⵔ ⴰⴳⵔⴰⵖⵍⴰⵏ ⵏ ⵍⴼⵉⵍⵎ ⴳ ⵎⵕⵕⴰⴽⵛ ) is an international film festival founded by the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation in 2001 and held annually in Marrakech, Morocco. The 19th edition is being held November 11–19, 2022. It is the festival's first in-person gathering following its cancellation in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. Marrakech
Marrakesh or Marrakech ( or ; ar, مراكش, murrākuš, ; ber, ⵎⵕⵕⴰⴽⵛ, translit=mṛṛakc}) is the fourth largest city in the Kingdom of Morocco.
