Marques Ackerman
Marques Jannie Ackerman (born 1 March 1996) is a South African first-class cricketer. He was included in the North West cricket team, North West squad for the 2016 Africa T20 Cup. In August 2017, he was named in Durban Qalandars' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa initially postponed the tournament until November 2018, with it being cancelled soon after. In September 2018, he was named in KwaZulu-Natal (cricket team), KwaZulu-Natal's squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup. He was the leading run-scorer for KwaZulu-Natal in the tournament, with 121 runs in four matches. He was also the leading run-scorer for KwaZulu-Natal in the 2018–19 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup, with 439 runs in six matches. Cape Town Blitz
Cape Town Blitz were a franchise team of the South African Mzansi Super League (MSL) Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team was based at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. Cape Town Blitz played in the first two editions of the MLS in 2018 and 2019, before COVID-19 delayed the competition in 2020. The side finished as runners up in 2018 but were dissolved in 2021 in response to the reform of the domestic structure of South African cricket. T20 Global League
The Mzansi Super League (MSL) was a Twenty20 cricket (T20) franchise league held in South Africa. The competition was established in 2018 by Cricket South Africa (CSA) as a replacement for the failed T20 Global League, but only two editions were played before the competition was itself cancelled in favour of the SA20 competition from 2022/23. The first edition of the tournament took place in November and December 2018. The South African Broadcasting Corporation broadcast all matches domestically on free-to-air channels. The league consisted of six franchise teams representing different South African cities. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. 2021–22 CSA T20 Challenge
The 2021–22 CSA T20 Challenge was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that took place in South Africa during February 2022. It replaced the planned 2022 edition of the Mzansi Super League, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Imperial Lions were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage matches, Titans, Western Province, Dolphins and Rocks all progressed to the semi-finals of the tournament. In the first semi-final, Titans beat Dolphins by six wickets to advance to the final. They were joined in the final by Rocks, who beat Western Province by seven wickets in their semi-final match. In the final, Rocks beat Titans by 15 runs to win the tournament. The 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup was a domestic Twenty cricket tournament that took place in South Africa in September 2019, as a curtain-raiser to the 2019–20 South African domestic season. It was played between the thirteen South African provincial teams, along with Limpopo and Mpumalanga. This was the sixth edition of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup, which was last played in the 2015–16 season. With only domestic teams from South Africa taking part, the tournament returned in place of the Africa T20 Cup, which had been held since 2015. On the opening day of matches, Jonathan Vandiar scored an unbeaten century for Northerns against Gauteng in Pool A. The 2019 Mzansi Super League, also known as the MSL 2.0, was the second edition of the Mzansi Super League (MSL) Twenty20 (T20) franchise cricket tournament in South Africa. It started on 8 November and ended on 16 December 2019. Jozi Stars were the defending champions, having won the inaugural 2018 tournament.
