Marmagao railway station (Station code: MRH) is a small railway station in South Goa district, Goa. It serves Marmagao city. The station consists of two platforms, which are not well sheltered and lack many facilities, including water and sanitation. The station was part of the Marmagao and Vasco metre-gauge railway line, which was the main rail line in the state until Konkan Railway was started in 1998. It comes under the jurisdiction of the Hubli division of the South Western Railway zone. Marmagao
Mormugao is a seaport city situated in the eponymous Mormugao taluka (municipality) of the South district, in the Goa state, India. It has a deep natural harbour and remains Goa's chief port. Towards the end of the Indo-Portuguese era in 1917, thirty-one settlements were carved out of the Salcette area, to form Morumugão with Mormugao seaport as its headquarters. The South Western Railway (SWR) is one of the 19 railway zones in India, headquartered at Hubballi in Karnataka State. SWR was created from carving out the routes from Southern Railways, South Central Railways and Central Railways in 2003. History The South Western Railway zone came into existence on 1 April 2003 by bifurcating Mysuru and Bengaluru divisions from Southern Railway along with Hubballi division from South Central Railway. Vasco Da Gama, Goa
Vasco da Gama (), often shortened to Vasco, is a city in the state of Goa on the west coast of India. It is named after the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama. It is the headquarters of the Mormugão taluka (subdistrict).
