''Mark of the Lash'' is a 1948 American Western film starring Lash LaRue and Al "Fuzzy" St. John and directed by Ray Taylor. Raymond Edgar Taylor (1 December 1888 – 15 February 1952) was an American film director. He directed 159 films between 1926 in film, 1926 and 1949 in film, 1949. His List of directorial debuts, debut was the 1926 film serial ''Fighting with Buffalo Bill''. Ray Taylor was one of the few Hollywood directors who specialized in a single type of film: he was an action specialist. Many action directors would be called upon at one time or another to helm a mainstream drama, romance, or mystery, but Ray Taylor established himself early in westerns and action fare, and he worked in this capacity throughout his career. Even a brief tenure directing the campus-capers "Collegians" shorts for Universal Pictures, Universal was appropriate for Taylor, as these two-reel subjects often emphasized visual action. Tom London (born Leonard T. Clapman; August 24, 1889 – December 5, 1963) was an American actor who played frequently in B-Westerns. Career Little is known about this man who appeared in over 100 films between 1943 and 1959, according to the Internet Movie Database. Roberts, whose career of portraying good guys and bad guys spanned virtually the entire range of Columbia and Republic serials production, delighted serial fans as the classic ''action heavy'', but he could play sympathetic roles with equal skills as a sheriff or a police detective. Marshall Jewel Reed (May 28, 1917 – April 15, 1980) was an American actor who appeared in over 200 films between 1943 and 1978. He was born in Englewood, Colorado. Early years Reed's parents were Walter George Reed and Ruth Dustin. By age 10, he was acting in children's theater, and he managed two drama groups while he was in high school. Ron Ormond (born Vittorio Di Naro, August 29, 1910 – May 11, 1981) was an American author, showman, screenwriter, film producer, and film director of Western, musical, and exploitation films. Following his survival of a 1968 plane crash, Ormond began making Christian films. Early life Ron Ormond was born Vittorio Di Naro, anglicised to Vic Narro. He took his surname from his friend, magician and hypnotist Ormond McGill. Ormond married the vaudeville singer and dancer June Carr (1912–2006) six weeks after he met her during a run of 1935 stage performances at the Capitol Theater in Portland, Ore. Calling himself "Rahn Ormond," Ormond performed magic and acted as the show's master of ceremonies. They remained married until his death. They became partners in film production and had two sons.
