Mark Wilson (English Footballer)
Mark Antony Wilson (born 9 February 1979) is an English former Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. He represented England at England national under-21 football team, Under-21 level. Career Manchester United Wilson was born in Scunthorpe and began his career as a trainee with Manchester United F.C., Manchester United, turning professional in August 1997. He joined Wrexham A.F.C., Wrexham on loan in February 1998 until the end of that season and made his league debut for Wrexham on 24 February 1998 when he came on as a 38th-minute substitute for injured goalkeeper Mark Cartwright in the game away to Burnley F.C., Burnley. With the score at 1–1 and no reserve keeper on the bench, midfielder Gareth Owen (footballer born 1982), Gareth Owen went in goal and Wrexham went on to win with Wilson scoring the winner. Scunthorpe () is an industrial town and unparished area in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire in Lincolnshire, England of which it is the main administrative centre. Scunthorpe had an estimated total population of 82,334 in 2016. A predominantly industrial town, the town is the United Kingdom's largest steel processing centre and is also known as the "Industrial Garden Town". A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Paul Jason Green (born 10 April 1983) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Green spent seven years at Doncaster Rovers, where he played more than 250 matches and earned three promotions in five years (from the non-league to the Football League Championship) as well as winning the Football League Trophy. Green spent four years at Derby before leaving in 2012. A central midfielder, Green can also play as a right winger or as a right-back in emergencies.
