Mark Walsh (darts Player)
Mark Walsh (born 2 February 1965) is a former English professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. He reached No. 6 in the PDC Order of Merit. Walsh reached his first major televised final in 2005, when he was beaten by Phil Taylor (darts player), Phil Taylor in the 2005 UK Open, UK Open. Early career Walsh made his televised debut at the 2002 World Matchplay Darts, 2002 World Matchplay but suffered a 10-0 whitewash at the hands of John Part. His World Championship debut came in 2004, but he lost 0-3 to Erik Clarys in his first match. He went out to Wayne Mardle 2-4 in 2005. He won his first match at the World Championship at his third attempt in 2006. Kings Langley
Kings Langley is a village, former Manorialism, manor and civil parishes in England, civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, north-west of Westminster in the historic centre of London and to the south of the Chiltern Hills. It now forms part of the London commuter belt. 2002 World Matchplay Darts
The 2002 Stan James World Matchplay was a professional darts tournament held from 28 July to 3 August 2002 at the Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, Winter Gardens of Blackpool. It was the ninth staging of the World Matchplay (darts), competition since the 1994 World Matchplay, 1994 edition and the 18th of 35 Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments in the 2002 season. James Wade
James Martin Wade (born 6 April 1983) is an English professional darts player, currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He became the youngest player to win a major PDC title, when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at the age of 24. This record has since been broken by Michael van Gerwen. Wade has won eleven PDC majors, third in the all-time list behind Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen. He is widely considered one of the best left handed darts players of all time. Wade has also won the World Grand Prix in 2007 and 2010, the UK Open in 2008, 2011 and 2021, the Premier League in 2009, the Championship League in 2010, the Masters in 2014, the European Championship and the World Series of Darts Finals in 2018. Bill Davis (darts Player)
William Davis (born March 6, 1959) is an American former professional darts player who played in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Davis made his televised debut in the United States, taking part in the World Series of Darts in 2006, losing in the first round to Denis Ovens in a tight game. Davis qualified for the Las Vegas Desert Classic the same year, but lost in round one to Terry Jenkins. Davis then qualified for the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship where he was beaten by Andy Jenkins in the first round. He followed this with a third round showing in the 2007 US Open, losing to Kevin Painter. Davis then reached the last 16 of the PDPA Players Championship in Las Vegas, but failed to qualify for the Desert Classic. 2008 Las Vegas Desert Classic
The 2008 partypoker.com Las Vegas Desert Classic was the seventh installment of the Las Vegas Desert Classic, a darts tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was held in the evenings (GMT, morning local time/ PST) between 2–6 July 2008 at Mandalay Bay, Paradise, United States. Phil Taylor emerged as the champion, in all but one match posting above a 100 average, beating James Wade in the final. This was his fourth Desert Classic title, having bounced back from a first round defeat to Mark Dudbridge in the 2007 Las Vegas Desert Classic. Last year's champion Raymond van Barneveld was looking to retain his title, but he was knocked out in the second round by Alan Tabern. Dartitis
Dartitis () is a condition which can affect darts players, and severely damage their performance. It can be compared to 'the yips', an expression used to describe apparent loss of fine motor skills without any explanation. The term is used in reference to players who struggle with some kind of psychological problem with their technique and/or release of their darts. Etymology Dartitis is a portmanteau of the sport's name and "-itis", a suffix that relates to a medical condition. It is described by the ''Collins English Dictionary'' as "(in darts) nervous twitching or tension that destroys concentration and spoils performance". The word was first used in the magazine ''Darts World'' by editor Tony Wood in 1981. Adrian Gray (born 28 February 1981) is an English darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Gray made his televised debut at the 2003 UK Open. He only began playing darts at the age of 18, and within three years had defeated notable players such as three-time world champion John Part. He made his debut in the PDC World Darts Championship in 2006, defeating Ronnie Baxter in the first round before losing to Darren Webster. An ever-present in the UK Open televised finals in Bolton, Gray's run to the semi-finals at the Antwerp Darts Trophy in 2007 saw him earn a Stan James World Matchplay qualifying spot but he lost 10–12 to Kevin Painter in the first round. The 2008 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 15th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place between 17 December 2007 and 1 January 2008 at the Alexandra Palace, London, England. John Part won his third World Championship, beating the qualifier Kirk Shepherd 7–2 in the final. Rico Vonck
Rico Vonck (born 12 March 1987) is a Dutch former darts player. Career Vonck qualified for the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship, having finished second in the Dutch Darts Federation (DDF) rankings. Michael van Gerwen had finished top of the list, but opted to play in the 2007 BDO World Darts Championship, BDO version instead. Vonck was only 19 years old when he won his place at the Circus Tavern. However, in 1993, a group of former world champions and other high-profile players separated from the British Darts Organisation, meaning there are now two major governing bodies. Each organization has its own players, and each has its own ranking system. Warren Parry
Warren "Wazza" Parry (born 9 January 1964) is a New Zealand professional darts player who played in the World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Parry is widely considered the greatest New Zealand player of all time. Career Parry reached the final of the 1999 WDF World Cup Men's Singles event, beating Marko Kantele in the last 16, Andy Fordham in the quarter-finals and fellow New Zealander Herbie Nathan in the semis before losing to Raymond van Barneveld 4–1. Parry then went on to win the 2000 WDF Asia-Pacific Cup.
