Mark Towle
Mark Towle is a car mechanic and car and motorcycle restorer and designer, best known as the owner of a car restoration and makeover shop called Gotham Garage based in Temecula, California. The shop has built props for movie studios and television shows. In 2018, Netflix released '' Car Masters: Rust to Riches'', which features Towle and his Gotham Garage team. Earlier in 2015, Towle became a defendant in a copyright infringement case filed and subsequently won by DC Comics regarding Towle's replication and sale of Batmobiles. Towle's and his Gotham Garage crew's 1:1 replica of the Plymouth XNR is displayed at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Plymouth XNR
The Plymouth XNR is a concept car developed by Chrysler. It was designed by Virgil Exner, and first shown in 1960. Also called the XNR 500, the car is an open roadster with some asymmetric features, and was proposed as a sporty addition to the Plymouth model lineup, and as competition for the Chevrolet Corvette. History Automobile designer Virgil Exner left Studebaker to join Chrysler in 1949. Chrysler's previous designers favored conservative, upright bodystyles, but sales were declining. At Chrysler, one of his first challenges was to wrest final say over design away from the engineering department. Exner commissioned a range of concept cars that were built in Italy by Carrozzeria Ghia. Among these were several sporty, open-top, two-seat cars, including three out of four of the cars in the Dodge Firearrow series, and the Chrysler Falcon. Inquisitr, a website started in 2007 for news and entertainment stories, was relaunched in May 2011. It is owned and operated by Inquisitr Ltd. History The web domain for Inquisitr was registered in Iceland on August 6, 2007. The company was founded by former TechCrunch journalist Duncan Riley, whose history of launching web businesses includes ''the Blog Herald'', launched in 2002. In 2004, he launched the blog network ''Weblog Empire'', which in 2005, served as the base site for ''b5media LLC'', of which Riley was a co-founder. The company went on to earn $15 million in profits before eventually being sold at a loss. Riley left the company with an undisclosed settlement after protesting the poor pay of its employees. Inquisitr was eventually put up for sale in 2011, with Riley citing personal reasons for the sale. Fairplex has been the home of the L.A. County Fair since 1922. Known prior to 1984 as the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, it is located in the city of Pomona, California. The L.A. County Fair is held during the month of May since 2022, but the facility is used year-round to host a variety of educational, commercial, and entertainment such as trade and consumer shows, conventions, and sporting events. Grand National Roadster Show
The Grand National Roadster Show (a.k.a.: GNRS, or sometimes referred to as ''Oakland Roadster Show'' but never officially called that), started in 1950, and is one of the oldest and longest continuously operating exhibitions of custom vehicles in the United States. History In 1949, while Al Slonaker was preparing for his first automobile show at the Oakland Exposition, an Oakland, CA area hot rod club convinced him to exhibit ten of these cars at the show. The next year, Slonaker decided to focus on just the hot rods but concerned over possible bad press, it was instead called the "National Roadster Show."
