Mark Shaw (singer)
Mark Shaw (born Mark Robert Tiplady on 10 June 1961 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England) is an English singer and songwriter who formed the 1980s rock band Then Jerico, which he continues to front. Their last studio album was 1998's ''Orgasmaphobia''. Music career After the original Then Jerico line-up split in early 1990, Shaw went solo releasing his only studio album, ''Almost'' for EMI in 1991. A live album, ''Alive & Exposed'', recorded in the summer of 1992 at The Grand Theatre, Clapham, London was released by Murder Records in 2000 under the 'Mark Shaw Etc., Then Jerico' banner featuring new song "Step into the Light". On 12 December 2012, via the official Then Jerico website, Shaw announced details of a 2013 "Reprise" tour consisting of 13 dates around the United Kingdom, culminating in a show at the Clapham Grand in London. "Broken Land" is a song by Northern Irish band the Adventures, released in 1988 as the first single from their second album ''The Sea of Love''. It was their biggest hit in the UK, spending 10 weeks on the chart, and was also a big hit in Ireland, where it reached the top ten. Written by guitarist Pat Gribben, "Broken Land" peaked at No. 20 on the UK Singles Chart, and was also the most-played song on BBC Radio 1 in 1988. It references experiences of the Troubles. Vintage TV was a music television channel from the United Kingdom which launched on 1 September 2010 on Sky and Freesat. The channel was available throughout the UK, and with limited availability in Ireland. Broadcast transmissions on satellite, cable and Freeview ceased during August 2018. Daniel Abineri (born 8 August 1958) is an English songwriter, actor, director, narrator and playwright known for writing the book, music and lyrics for the controversial rock musical ''Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom''. The 1994 London production made national news when it caused grave offence to the Roman Catholic Church and was closed down after just nine performances.
