Mark Shaw (rugby Union)
Mark William Shaw (born 23 May 1956) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. A flanker, Shaw represented Horowhenua, Manawatu and Hawke's Bay provincially and the All Blacks internationally. He was educated at Kapiti College Kāpiti College is situated at Raumati Beach on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand, 45 minutes drive from Wellington City. Flanker (rugby Union)
Flanker is a position in the sport of rugby union. Each team of 15 players includes two flankers, who play in the Forwards (rugby union), forwards, and are generally classified as either List of rugby union terms#B, blindside or List of rugby union terms#O, openside flankers, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The name comes from their position in a Scrum (rugby union), scrum in which they 'flank' each set of forwards. They compete for the ball – most commonly in Playing rugby union#Ruck, rucks and Playing rugby union#Maul, mauls. Flankers also assist in pushing in a scrum, but are expected to detach from the scrum as soon as the ball is out to get to the play before the opposition's forwards. 1980 New Zealand Rugby Union Tour Of North America And Wales
The 1980 New Zealand tour of Wales was a collection of friendly rugby union games undertaken by the New Zealand All Blacks against Wales that also took in two international games in North America en route to South Wales. This was a single test tour against each of the countries played, with four games against Welsh club opposition. Although the games were played within a tight schedule, the All Blacks were victorious in all seven matches.
