Mark Rogowski
Mark Anthony "Gator" Rogowski (born August 10, 1966) is an American former professional skateboarder who was convicted of murder. He was mainly prominent in the 1980s and early 1990s. Rogowski's career ended when he pled guilty for assaulting, raping and murdering Jessica Bergsten in 1991. His life was chronicled in a critically acclaimed 2003 documentary titled '' Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator'' by American filmmaker Helen Stickler. Early years Rogowski was born in Brooklyn, New York, but he moved to Escondido, California, at the age of three after his parents divorced. Rogowski was a gifted athlete, playing little league baseball in his youth. Rogowski started to skateboard at age seven and, while most of his friends were into surfing, he eventually started to hang out at skate parks several years later. Vision Street Wear is an American apparel company focused on BMX and skateboarding. Started in 1976 by Brad Dorfman, the company sponsored early skateboarding greats such as Mark 'Gator' Rogowski, and Mark Gonzales. Although the company is mostly known for its skateboards, it also commercialises a clothing line that includes t-shirts, hoodies, and shorts. The song was written by Petty and his writing partner for the album, Jeff Lynne, and features Lynne on backing vocals and bass guitar. Jeff Phillips (skateboarder)
Jeff Phillips (June 11, 1963 – December 25, 1993) was an American professional skateboarder. Phillips grew up in Dallas, Texas and started skateboarding at 10 years old. In 1973, his grandmother Annice gave him a Shark skateboard with steel wheels. Jeff and his father, Charles, crafted skateboards at home out of scraps of birch and plywood. As a teenager he frequented “Wizard Skateboard Park” in Garland and then a few years later “Skate Time” at Bachman Lake, in Dallas featuring the infamous “Blue Ramp/Clown Ramp”. Steve Caballero (born November 8, 1964) is an American professional skateboarder. He is known for the difficult tricks and air variations he invented for vertical skating and for setting the long-standing record for the highest air achieved on a halfpipe. In 1999, ''Thrasher Magazine'' named Caballero the "Skater of the Century". Career Caballero was born with scoliosis, a condition which causes a curvature of the spine, although he has stated that the condition "really hasn't affected me too much."
