Mark Anthony Riley
Mark Anthony Riley is a British nuclear physicist. He is known for his work in gamma spectroscopy. Riley earned his bachelor's degree in physics and his doctorate in nuclear physics at the University of Liverpool. He completed postdoctoral research at the Niels Bohr Institute, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the University of Tennessee and held the SERC Advanced Fellowship at the University of Liverpool before joining the faculty of Florida State University in 1990. In 2000, Riley was elected a fellow of the American Physical Society, "for his many pioneering contributions to the exploration of atomic nuclei at high angular momentum values." The following year, Riley was appointed Raymond K. Sheline Professor of Physics in 2001, and in 2014 was named a Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor at Florida State University. Mark Riley (American Radio Host)
Mark Riley (born September 22, 1951) is an American journalist and commentator. He is the former host/presenter of WWRL 1600 AM's morning drive talk program. He hosted a four-hour evening news, interview, comment, and culture program, "The Air Americans," on the now-defunct liberal talk radio network Air America Radio. His work at Air America also included co-hosting the network's morning-drive show, "Morning Sedition" with stand-up comic Marc Maron. Riley was also employed by WLIB 1190AM in New York City, where he worked as a broadcast journalist, program director and air personality. He has also worked with Richard Bey co-hosting the morning drive program at WWRL 1600AM New York. Mark Riley (Australian Rules Coach)
Mark Riley (born 10 October 1963) is a former Australian rules football, most notably as the caretaker senior coach of the Melbourne Football Club in the 2007 season, after senior coach Neale Daniher resigned. Riley was not retained as Melbourne Football Club senior coach at the end of the 2007 season, due to the appointment of Dean Bailey as Melbourne Football Club senior coach. Riley also was an assistant coach with the Fremantle Football Club, Carlton Football Club and the Gold Coast Suns. Playing career As a player Riley played for Claremont in the WAFL. He then played Sunday league football as well as cricket, including being selected for a state squad. As a teacher, he then moved to small rural towns including Hyden, Narrogin and Kellerberrin. Mark Riley is an Australian journalist, who is Political Editor for ''Seven News'' based in Canberra. Career Riley started his journalism career in 1979 at ''The Newcastle Herald'', where he covered topics including the 1989 Newcastle earthquake and the murder of Leigh Leigh. Riley's extended coverage of Leigh's murder received criticism, including from the ''Sydney Law Review'', on the grounds that he was victim blaming Leigh for her own sexual assault and murder. Riley moved to ''The Sydney Morning Herald'', where he worked in politics. In 1998, he was appointed New York correspondent for the '' Sydney Morning Herald'' and for Melbourne's ''The Age''.
