Mark Percival
Mark Percival (born 29 April 1994) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for St Helens in the Super League and England at international level. He made his début for Saints in 2013, winning the Super League Grand Final with the club in 2014. Background Percival was born in Widnes, Cheshire, England. Percival played junior rugby for Halton Hornets before joining St Helens' academy side. Club career Percival made his first team début against Leeds on 1 March 2013. St Helens reached the 2014 Super League Grand Final, and Percival was selected to play at centre in their 14–6 victory over the Wigan side at Old Trafford. 2020 Super League Season
Super League XXV, known as the Betfred Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the 25th season of the Super League and 126th season of rugby league in Great Britain. St Helens were the reigning champions going into Super League XXV. At the start of the season, it consisted of twelve professional rugby league teams: ten from England, one from Canada, and one from France. Due to financial pressures related to the season suspension, Canadian side Toronto Wolfpack withdrew from the league in July 2020, and the league continued with just 11 teams. The league was suspended on 16 March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a resumption to a revised format started again on 2 August. The France national rugby league team represent France in international rugby league matches. They are referred to as ''les Chanticleers'' or less commonly as ''les Tricolores''. The team is run under the auspices of the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII. The French rugby league team first played in 1934 on a tour of England. They have taken part in all World Cups, 16 in total, with the first being held in 1954 in France. They have never won the title but finished runners-up in both 1954 and 1968. These are often considered the glory years of French rugby league as from the 1950s to the 1970s the team were strong and regularly beat Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain. The 2016 Rugby League Four Nations tournament (known as the 2016 Ladbrokes Four Nations, for sponsorship purposes) was the fifth staging of the Rugby League Four Nations tournament and was played in England in October and November.
