Mark Lamsfuß
Mark Lamsfuß (born 19 April 1994) is a German badminton player and plays for the BC Wipperfeld. He and his partner, Isabel Lohau won a bronze medal in mixed doubles at the 2022 BWF World Championships. Career Lamsfuß started playing badminton at aged 3, and in 2013 he won the Dutch Open Junior tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Franziska Volkmann. He and Volkmann also won bronze at the 2013 European Junior Badminton Championships. He became the Germany national badminton team in 2013, and at that year he reach the men's doubles semifinal round of the senior tournament at the Irish Open International Challenge with Fabian Holzer. In 2016, he clinched the mixed doubles title at the National Championships tournament partnered with Isabel Herttrich from BC Bischmisheim. Badminton At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Doubles
The men's doubles badminton tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place from 24 to 31 July at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza at Tokyo. There were 16 pairs from 14 nations competing. Background This was the 8th appearance of the event as a full medal event. Badminton was introduced as a demonstration sport in 1972, held again as an exhibition sport in 1988, and added to the full programme in 1992; the men's doubles tournament has been held since. The reigning champions were Fu Haifeng and Zhang Nan of China, who were not defending their title. Fu retired after the 2016 Games, having reached three consecutive finals with two different partners (Zhang and Cai Yun) and winning two gold medals and a silver medal. Irish Open (badminton)
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding. Recent editions have been held in the Baldoyle Badminton Centre except for 2007 and 2011 tournaments which were held in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales).
