Mark Kamphaus is a retired American football quarterback. Kamphaus played high school football at Cincinnati's famed Moeller High School and went on to play college football at Boston College from 1986–89. After backing up Shawn Halloran his freshman year, he split the starting job with Mike Power in his Sophomore and Junior seasons and with Power and Willie Hicks in his senior year. Shawn Halloran
Shawn Halloran (born April 23, 1964) is an American high school sports administrator and former football player and coach. He played college football as a quarterback for the Boston College Eagles and professionally for St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Halloran served as the head football coach at Franklin & Marshall College from 2003 to 2005, compiling a record of 17–15. He is currently the athletic director at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas, a position he has held since 2017. Playing career Boston College Halloran came to Boston College in 1983 and was the backup quarterback for the Boston College Eagles from 1983 to 1984, playing behind Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie. The Indiana Firebirds were a team in the Arena Football League. The team was based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Emerald Isle Classic
College football in Ireland began initially in 1988 as part of a promotional campaign to mark the Dublin millennium celebrations. Dubbed the Emerald Isle Classic, it was the first NCAA-sanctioned American college football game played in Europe. The game was played at Lansdowne Road in Dublin, Ireland in the years 1988 and 1989. The event was first proposed and arranged by Aidan J. Prendergast and Jim O'Brien. Prendergast, who was a former president of the Irish American Football Association conceived the idea of bringing a major NCAA game to Ireland in the mid-1980s and started pitching the idea on both sides of the Atlantic. Prendergast promoted both the 1988 and 1989 games. The game was intended as an annual event to attract some of the 40 million Americans of Irish descent back to Ireland. The Army Black Knights football team, previously known as the Army Cadets, represents the United States Military Academy in college football.
