Mark Jones (rugby Player Born 1979)
Mark Anthony Jones (born 7 November 1979 in Builth Wells, Powys) is a Welsh rugby union coach and former player who played on the wing for the Scarlets and Wales. Since making his international debut for Wales, he won 47 caps and scored 13 tries. He is currently a coach at New Zealand sides Crusaders and Canterbury. Early life As a youngster, as well as playing rugby, Jones was also a sprinter and once competed against future World Junior Athletics champion Christian Malcolm in a 100 metres final; Jones said his performance against Malcolm was the reason he gave up athletics for a career in rugby. He began his domestic career at Builth Wells Youth before joining the senior side. He was signed by Llandovery from Builth and in his first season of senior rugby was the highest try scorer in the Welsh League. Builth Wells
Builth Wells (; cy, Llanfair-ym-Muallt) is a market town and community in the county of Powys and historic county of Brecknockshire (Breconshire), mid Wales, lying at the confluence of rivers Wye and Irfon, in the Welsh (or upper) part of the Wye Valley. In 2011 it had a population of 2,568. Etymology ''Builth'' is a longstanding anglicization of the Old Welsh ''Buellt/Buallt'', which combines ''bu'' () " ox" and ''gellt'' (later ''gwellt'') " lea or leas". The town added "Wells" in the 19th century when its springs were promoted as a visitor attraction. Its modern Welsh name ''Llanfair-ym-Muallt'' means "Saint Mary in Ox Leas". Canterbury Rugby League Team
The Canterbury rugby league team (also known as the Canterbury Bulls) are a rugby league team who represent the Canterbury Rugby League. They currently compete in the Albert Baskerville Trophy. Super Rugby
Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It previously included teams from Argentina, Japan, and South Africa. Building on various Southern Hemisphere competitions dating back to the South Pacific Championship in 1986, with teams from a number of southern nations, the Super Rugby started as the Super 12 in the 1996 season with 12 teams from 3 countries: Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Wayne Proctor
Wayne Thomas Proctor (12 June 1972) is a former Wales international rugby union footballer, who was a winger/full-back for Wales, Llanelli RFC and subsequently the Llanelli Scarlets. A former Welsh schools international athlete, Proctor represented Wales at the 110m hurdles whilst a student at Cardigan Secondary School. Proctor is still the current record holder for the most tries in the Welsh league and record try scorer for Llanelli RFC. He is the third highest points scorer for the Scarlets, with 872. Dale Lynsey Manawa "Chief" McIntosh (born 23 November 1969) is a former Wales international rugby union player and former rugby union coach. He was born in Tūrangi, New Zealand. Rugby Union career Amateur career He played for Pontypridd. Provincial career McIntosh qualified to play for Scotland by virtue of a Scottish grandfather. 2019 Rugby World Cup
The 2019 Rugby World Cup was the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's rugby union teams. It was hosted in Japan from 20 September to 2 November in 12 venues all across the country. The opening match was played at Ajinomoto Stadium in Chōfu, Tokyo, with the final match being held at International Stadium Yokohama in Yokohama. Celtic Cup (rugby Union)
The Celtic Cup was a rugby union cup competition featuring regional and provincial teams from Ireland, Scotland and Wales that ran for two seasons between 2003 and 2005. The first edition of the competition was won by Ulster and the second by Munster, both from Ireland. Lee Blackett
Lee Blackett (born 21 November 1982 in Chester, Cheshire, United Kingdom) is an English former rugby union footballer. Educated at King Edward VII and Queen Mary School in Lytham, he played some of his earlier rugby at Fylde Rugby Club. His usual positions were at wing or centre. He played for and captained Rotherham Titans in the Championship before spending six seasons playing for Leeds Tykes in the Premiership. In 2013, aged 30, he became the youngest coach in the Championship, when he returned to Rotherham Titans. He joined Wasps as backs coach in 2015 He was appointed interim head coach of Wasps in February 2020 after it was announced Dai Young had stepped down from first-team coaching duties. RFL Championship
The Championship, known as the Betfred Championship for sponsorship reasons, is a professional rugby league competition. Rob Howley
Robert Howley (born 13 October 1970) is a Welsh former rugby union player and coach. As a player, he won 59 caps for Wales, 22 of them as captain. He was part of the Wales coaching team for many years. He is currently a coaching consultant for the Toronto Arrows in Major League Rugby (MLR). Playing career Club Howley played for Bridgend, Cardiff and Wasps. He gained the distinction of Welsh Player of the Year in 1996 and 1997.
