Sir John Mark Somers Hunter (1865 – 20 September 1932) was a schoolmaster in India and the author of school textbooks of English literature. Mark James Hunter (born 25 July 1957) is a British Liberal Democrat politician and leader of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council who became Member of Parliament (MP) for Cheadle at a 2005 by-election. At the 2015 general election, Hunter lost his seat to Mary Robinson of the Conservative Party. Since 19 May 2022, Hunter has served as the leader of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. Mark William Hunter (born November 12, 1962) is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive, coach, and former player. He most recently served as the assistant general manager for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). Hunter was born in Petrolia, Ontario, but grew up in nearby (13 km) Oil Springs, Ontario, and was one of three brothers, with Dave and Dale, to play in the NHL. Junior hockey Brantford Alexanders Hunter began his junior hockey career with the Brantford Alexanders for the 1979–80 season where in his rookie season he finished fifth in team scoring, getting 34 goals and 89 points in 66 games, while getting 171 penalty minutes, helping Brantford to the playoffs. Mark Hunter (footballer)
Mark Hunter (born 3 September 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hunter, a product of the Melton Bloods, played both under-19s and reserves level football at the Geelong Football Club. He was delisted by Geelong without playing a senior game but had his hopes of a VFL career revived when he was invited to train with Footscray prior to the 1988 season. A defender, he slotted straight into the Footscray team in 1988 and over the course of his career would give the club good service, although he missed many games because of hamstring injuries. He had perhaps his best season in 1994 when he had averaged 20 disposals a game from his 22 appearances and had 365 kicks, the fourth most in the league that year. After retirement he spent a season at Williamstown in 1999 as an assistant coach and a couple of years as a Footscray runner in 2006 and 2007. Mark Hunter (born May 26, 1977) is an American musician best known as the former vocalist of heavy metal band Chimaira. Early life Hunter was born in Parma Heights, Ohio, on May 26, 1977. Career Hunter started Chimaira in 1998. The band has sold over a million albums worldwide and have debuted on the Billboard 200 Chart six times. 2013's ''Crown of Phantoms'' debuted at number 54 selling over 7,400 copies in its first week of release. Hunter was one of the main songwriters for Chimaira and considered the band leader. He is also credited in the album liner notes for assisting with guitars, artwork concepts and album production. Mark John Hunter MBE (born 1 July 1978) is a retired British rower. Rowing career Hunter was born in Forest Gate, London and he attended Havering Sixth Form College. While representing Havering in the London Youth Games, he took part in some of his early rowing competitions. In 2007 he partnered Zac Purchase in the Great Britain Lightweight Men's Double Scull. They won medals at each World Cup Regatta through the season. At the World Rowing Championships in Munich-Oberschleissheim they won a Bronze medal. The following year, their double dominated the lightweight event, winning all of their races, and finishing the season as Olympic champions. After a year off in 2009, they took Gold at the 2010 World Championships at Lake Karapiro in New Zealand. Mark Hunter is a Scottish-based podcaster. He started the tartanpodcast in March 2005 quickly following it with the "Sleepy Sunday Show" and "The Spotlight Show". The tartanpodcast was the first music-based podcast from Scotland. The summer of 2006 saw him start "The Mellow Monday Show". Production of the tartanpodcast, a showcase music podcast for Scottish indie bands, ended in June 2007 after 110 episodes. Following a one-off episode in October, the tartanpodcast returned as a regular show in February 2008. Mark Hunter, known as The Cobrasnake (born July 21, 1985), is an American photographer. He is known for his photographs of American nightlife, particularly from the mid 2000s to the early 2010s. Early life Hunter grew up in Los Angeles. He was raised by a single mom who worked as a dental hygienist for Bill Dorfman, a dentist popular with celebrities. Through his mother’s job, he was able to meet numerous celebrities as a boy. He attended Santa Monica High School. Career Hunter was an assistant to the artist Shepard Fairey for several years. Through his work with Fairey, he would attend parties and events attended by many well known artists and musicians. Marc Alexander Hunter (7 September 195317 July 1998) was a New Zealand rock and pop singer, songwriter and record producer. He was the lead vocalist of Dragon (1973–11/1979, 8/1982–1989, 1995–11/1997), a band formed by his older brother, Todd Hunter, in Auckland in January 1972. They relocated to Sydney in May 1975. He was also a member of the Party Boys in 1985. For his solo career he issued five studio albums, ''Fiji Bitter'' (November 1979), ''Big City Talk'' (August 1981), ''Communication'' (September 1985), ''Night and Day'' (August 1990) and ''Talk to Strangers'' (late 1994).
