Mark Henninger
Mark Henninger is an American college athletics administrator and former football coach. He is the assistant athletic director at Marian University in Indianapolis, a position he has held since December 2022. Henninger served as the head football coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College—now known as North Carolina Wesleyan University— Rocky Mount, North Carolina from 2008 to 2012 and at Marian from 2013 to 2022. In 2014, his second season at Marian, he led the Knights to a share of the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League championship and an appearance in the NAIA Football National Championship title game, where they lost to Southern Oregon. In 2015, Henninger led the Knights to a championship game rematch with Southern Oregon, and this time Marian was the victor. For his efforts, Henninger was named the NAIA Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) in 2014 and 2015. Wittenberg Tigers Football
The Wittenberg Tigers football team represents Wittenberg University in college football. The first recorded year in Wittenberg football history was 1892. The Tigers compete at the NCAA Division III level and the program is affiliated with the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). 2014 NAIA Football National Championship
The 2014 NAIA Football National Championship was a four round sixteen team tournament played between November 22 through December 19 of 2014. The tournament concluded on December 19 with a single game played as the 59th Annual Russell Athletic NAIA Football National Championship. The game matched #8 Southern Oregon (12–2) against #7 Marian (11–2). The championship game was played at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. A total of sixteen teams participated in the single-elimination tournament from across the country. Placement in the tournament was based on the final edition of the 2014 NAIA Coaches' Poll. This year's field included all but one of the top 17 teams from the final poll.
