Mark Hennessy
Mark Hennessy (born Mark Tom Hennessy) is the former singer for the band Paw, from Lawrence, Kansas. He was also the singer of King Rat, The Diamond Heart Club, 1950 D.A. (all from Lawrence too), and is currently the singer for Godzillionaire. He is a self-proclaimed "poetry freak". In 2005, he released a book of poetry called ''Cue the Bedlam (More Desperate With Longing Than Want of Air)'', which was published in December 2005 by Unholy Day Press. He completed a doctoral degree at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Music Mark started singing in the Saint John's Choir, then created his own band, King Rat. Hennessy was lead vocalist and the main lyricist of the grunge band Paw. They recorded two major label releases, ''Dragline'' and '' Death To Traitors'', and the EP '' Home Is a Strange Place''. Lawrence is the county seat of Douglas County, Kansas, Douglas County, Kansas, United States, and the sixth-largest city in the state. It is in the northeastern sector of the state, astride Interstate 70, between the Kansas River, Kansas and Wakarusa River, Wakarusa Rivers. Paw (band)
Paw was an American rock band from Lawrence, Kansas, that was formed in 1990. The band's original line-up consisted of vocalist Mark Hennessy, guitarist Grant Fitch, bassist Charles Bryan, and drummer Peter Fitch. They released two studio albums – ''Dragline'' and '' Death To Traitors'', the B-side and outtake collection '' Keep The Last Bullet For Yourself'' and the EP '' Home Is a Strange Place'' before disbanding in 2000. On two occasions they have reunited. History Paw was formed in 1990 in Lawrence, alongside Kill Creek and Stick. Their work from this era can best be characterized as aggressive rock with melodic undertones, or 'Southern rock' as Hennessy explained in an MTV interview. They were frequently cited by industry insiders as potentially "the next Nirvana", and a bidding war erupted to sign them. ''Dragline'' is the debut studio album by the American grunge band Paw. It was released in 1993 through A&M Records. It sold around 80,000 copies. The single "Jessie" released in 1993, reached number 82 in the UK. Other singles from the album included "Lolita" in 1992 and "Sleeping Bag" and "Couldn't Know" in 1993. In 2015, the album was re-released by Cherry Red Records Ltd. with all the b-sides from the singles as bonus tracks as well as extensive liner notes and slightly different artwork (the band logo and the title are smaller). Production The album was recorded at Smart Studios, in Madison, Wisconsin.
