Mark Harris (November 19, 1922 – May 30, 2007) was an American novelist, literary biographer, and educator. Biography Early life Harris was born Mark Harris Finkelstein in Mount Vernon, New York, to Carlyle and Ruth (Klausner) Finkelstein. At the age of 11, he began keeping a diary, which he would maintain for every day of his life thereafter. After graduating in 1940 from Mount Vernon High School, he dropped his surname because "it was a difficult time for kids with Jewish names to get jobs." He subsequently went to work for Paul Winkler's Press Alliance news agency in New York City as a messenger and mimeograph operator. He was drafted into the United States Army in January 1943. His growing opposition to war and his anger at the prevalence of racial discrimination in the Army led him to go AWOL from Camp Wheeler, Georgia, in February 1944. Mark Harris (born Neath) is an IFBB professional bodybuilder from Wales. He is six times UKBFF Welsh champion and overall UKBFF (formerly EFBB) British champion of 2001. He nearly won the overall UKFBB British bodybuilding Championships in 2000 but was pipped to the post by Mike King. In 2001, a "shredded" Mark became overall British champion as a middleweight and turned pro. He made his pro debut in the English Grand Prix several weeks later. Thomas Mark Harris (born 29 December 1998) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays for club Oxford United and the Wales national team. A versatile forward, he is able to play as a winger or as a striker. He has represented Wales at under-17, under-19, under-20 and under-21 level. Mark Andrew Harris (born 15 July 1963) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career He began his career with Wokingham Town before signing for Crystal Palace in June 1988. He had a brief loan spell at Burnley and made only two appearances for Palace, both as a substitute, in their 1988–89 promotion season. In 1989, he moved on to Swansea City, for whom he made 228 appearances, scoring 14 goals between then and 1995.
