Mark Hamilton (born 30 October 1970) is a physician and broadcaster. He is presenter of '' How Long Will You Live?'' on RTÉ One and former presenter of '' The Surgery'' on BBC Radio 1. Education and medical training Hamilton graduated from medical school with an MB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery). He then went on to specialize in several fields such as Orthopedic surgery, Geriatric medicine and Anaesthetics, and lectured Anatomy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester. In 2007, Hamilton worked in an A&E in Withington as a registrar. He is currently training as a general practitioner at Lockside Medical Centre in Stalybridge. Media career Hamilton joined Radio 1 in 1999, jointly hosting the Surgery with Sara Cox. Since then Hamilton has co-presented with Emma B, Letitia, Annie Mac and Kelly Osbourne. Mark Alan Hamilton (born July 29, 1984) is an American former professional baseball first baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals. After his playing career, Hamilton pursued a medical degree and is currently a resident in interventional radiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Ash are a Northern Irish rock band formed in Downpatrick in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Tim Wheeler, bassist Mark Hamilton and drummer Rick McMurray. As a three-piece, they released mini-album '' Trailer'' in 1994 and full-length album ''1977'' in 1996. This 1996 release was named by ''NME'' as one of the 500 greatest albums of all time. After the success of their full debut the band recruited Charlotte Hatherley as a guitarist and vocalist, releasing their second record ''Nu-Clear Sounds'' in 1998. After narrowly avoiding bankruptcy, the band released ''Free All Angels'' in 2001 and a string of successful singles. Mark Hamilton is a British lead guitarist who played for UK rock band Quench, (ICC Records) (on hiatus since 2009) . He has also played for Warner Bros' Top 40 artist Doug Walker and features on Doug's debut album ''Fear Together'' (2009) (produced by Danton Supple – producer of Coldplay's ''X&Y'' etc.) as well as ex Dum Dums frontman Josh Doyle in the US, Vicky Beeching and Martyn Layzell (Survivor Records). He has also appeared with various other artists for TV and recording sessions including Italian superstar Elisa, on the same bill as Destiny's Child at an MTV Live event. Woodpigeon are a Canadian indie pop collective founded in Calgary and presently based in Montréal. It is led by and performs the songs of Mark Andrew Hamilton. Woodpigeon have released six studio albums, and a number of EPs to critical acclaim, and Hamilton has worked with over 75 collaborators both on record and in live performance. Live, Woodpigeon is often a solo project incorporating loops and layered vocals.
