Mark Gaston Pearce
Mark Gaston Pearce is an American lawyer, arbitrator and university professor who is best known for serving as a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Pearce was designated chairman of the board by President Barack Obama on August 28, 2011, and served as chairman until January 22, 2017. He currently is a visiting professor and the executive director of the Workers' Rights Institute at Georgetown University Law Center. Early life and career Pearce was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Jamaican and Cuban immigrants. He attended and later graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in 1971. Pearce received a bachelor's degree in government from Cornell University in 1975 and a Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo Law School in 1978.
