Mark Davis (basketball, Born 1963)
Mark Giles Davis (born June 8, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. He is a 6'6" (1.98 m) and 195 lb (88 kg). He was a small forward and he attended Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he was born. He played collegiately at Old Dominion University. Davis was selected with the 9th pick of the fourth round of the 1985 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his only NBA season ( 1988–89) in which he spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks (31 games) and Phoenix Suns (2 games), he averaged 3.8 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. He won the Spanish Cup in 1990, playing for CB Zaragoza. He also played in 1991 European Cup Winner's Cup final. One of Davis’s sons, Johnny, was drafted 10th overall in the 2022 NBA draft and currently plays for the Washington Wizards. The ACB contests are the 3-point shootout and slam dunk contests held by the Liga ACB, the top-tier level professional club basketball league in the country of Spain. Jonathan Christian Davis (born February 27, 2002) is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball, Wisconsin Badgers and was drafted tenth overall by the Wizards in the 2022 NBA draft. 1985 NBA Draft
The 1985 NBA Draft took place on June 18, 1985. It was also the first NBA draft of the "lottery" era. It was also around this time where the league decreased the amount of rounds the draft spent, with the previous few years lasting up to 10 rounds total. A total of 162 players were selected over seven rounds by the league's 23 teams. The New York Knicks were awarded the first overall pick by winning the first-ever NBA draft lottery, which was held in May of that year. The Knicks used it on Georgetown's Patrick Ewing.
