Mark D. Ferguson
Mark D. Ferguson is a Scottish film director, screenwriter and camera operator. He is possibly best known for his directorial and camera work on the feature film ''In Search of La Che''. Biography Ferguson studied Television Production at the Glasgow Metropolitan College. After graduating, he co founded the production company Quick Off The Mark Productions with Chris Quick. In 2010, the pair teams up with Andy S. McEwan to write and produce their first feature film ''In Search of La Che'' which starred Duncan Airlie James in the leading role of John Tavish. The film premiered at the Glasgow Film Theatre on 9 November 2011. The film received mixed reviews from critics on both sides of the Atlantic. Duane Martin of Rogue Cinema said "As mockumentaries go, this one is a bit of a mixed bag. A camera operator, or depending on the context cameraman or camerawoman, is a professional operator of a film camera or video camera as part of a film crew. The term "cameraman" does not imply that a male is performing the task. In filmmaking, the cinematographer or director of photography (DP or DoP) is sometimes called lighting cameraman or first cameraman. The DP may operate the camera themselves, or enlist the aid of a camera operator or second cameraman to operate it or set the controls. The first assistant cameraman (1st AC), also known as a focus puller, is responsible for maintenance of the camera, such as clearing dirt from the film gate and adjusting the follow focus. A second assistant cameraman (2nd AC), also known as a clapper loader, might be employed to load film, slate scenes, or maintain the camera report (a log of scenes, takes, rolls, photographic filters used, and other production data). Glasgow Film Theatre
The Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT) is an independent cinema in the city centre of Glasgow. GFT is a registered charity. It occupies a purpose-built cinema building, first opened in 1939, and now protected as a category B listed building. History and architecture GFT's predecessor, the Cosmo, was Scotland's first arts cinema and only the second purpose-built arthouse in Britain, after the Curzon Mayfair in London. Opened on 18 May 1939, it was also the last cinema to be built in Glasgow before the outbreak of WW2. The Cosmo arrived at the close of an important decade for British film culture. Duncan Airlie James (born Duncan Campbell; 23 May 1961) is the uncle to Yoshi Takahashi and is a Scottish actor best known for his roles in ''Tomb Raider'' and '' ID2: Shadwell Army''. He is a former heavyweight kickboxer and was the first Scottish fighter to win a world Muay Thai title and fight in K-1.
