Mark Malloch Brown
George Mark Malloch Brown, Baron Malloch-Brown (born 16 September 1953) is a British diplomat, communications consultant, journalist and former politician serving as president of Open Society Foundations since 2021, having previously served as Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations under Kofi Annan from April to December 2006. A former member of the Labour Party, he served as Minister of State for Africa and the United Nations in the Brown government from 2007 to 2009. Born in Marylebone, Malloch Brown studied at Magdalene College, Cambridge and the University of Michigan. Mark Brown (rugby Union)
Mark Brown is a Welsh former rugby union international player. Brown is considered as the first Black Welsh person to represent the Wales national rugby union team. Early life Brown was born in the Pillgwenlly area of Newport in 1958, to a Jamaican father and a mother from Yorkshire, England. Brown's family moved to Cwmbran at the age of six, where he attended Mount Pleasant and Coed Eva schools. Brown has stated that he was not from a rugby family, that his dad had no interest in the sport, being an avid cricket player and fan. As such, Brown did not pick up a rugby ball until he was seventeen. Career At the age of seventeen Brown was invited to train with Cwmbran RFC (coached by former Ebbw Vale and Wales flanker Graham Jones). Brownmark
Mark Brown (born March 8, 1962), better known by the stage name Brown Mark, also styled Brownmark and BrownMark, is an American musician, bassist and record producer. Life and career Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, Brown's early fame came when he was the bass guitarist of The Revolution, musician Prince's original touring (and later also his recording) band. BrownMark started working for Prince in 1981, one year out of high school. Noted for his unique, funk-based style of musicianship, he became a record producer and recording artist himself after parting company with Prince in 1986. His early influences on bass are Larry Graham, Stanley Clarke, Louis Johnson, Mark Adams from SLAVE, Jaco Pastorius, Verdine White, Nate Phillips (Dazz Band) and Bootsy Collins. ''Game Maker's Toolkit'' (''GMTK'') is a video game analysis series created and presented by Mark Brown, a British video game journalist. The show examines and explains various aspects of video game design and is supposed to help viewers consider the design of games that they play and to encourage developers to improve their craft. There are also more focused stems of the series, discussing issues of accessibility in video games or level design. The first ''GMTK'' video was published in 2014. The Horne Section
The Horne Section is a British musical comedy band, appearing regularly on radio, television, and stage. Led by frontman and comedian Alex Horne, the band mix music with comedy and specialise in comedy/ spoof songs as well as performing a wide variety of genres including jazz. The band is made up of professional musicians, including two childhood friends of Horne, and first performed together in May 2010, with the current line-up finalised during 2012. The Horne Section have performed at the Edinburgh Festival, as well as touring the UK, and celebrity guests at their shows have included Harry Hill, Simon Amstell, Jimmy Carr, Tim Minchin, Josie Long, Al Murray and John Oliver as well as musicians including Suggs and Neil Hannon. Pro Cantione Antiqua of London (PCA) is a British choral group which was founded in 1968 by tenor James Griffett, counter-tenor Paul Esswood, and conductor and producer Mark Brown. Wing commander (rank), Wing Commander Mark Henry Brown, (9 October 1911 – 12 November 1941), nicknamed Hilly, was the first Canadian pilot to become a Flying ace, fighter ace during World War II whilst serving with the Royal Air Force during the Battle of France. He also flew in the Battle of Britain and was killed in action in November 1941 over Sicily. Early life Brown was a son of Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Brown, of Glenboro, Manitoba. Whilst working for the Bank of Montreal in Brandon, Manitoba, Brandon (the building occupied by the Bank pre-war still stands on Rosser Avenue) he learned to fly at the Brandon Flying club and, after passing the required medical, left Canada to join the RAF in May 1936. Mark Brown is a paralympic track and field, athlete from Great Britain competing mainly in category T46 long-distance events. He has also represented Gibraltar. Mark Brown was born in 1962 or 1963 in Burnley, England. Brown competed at three Paralympics. In the 1996 Summer Paralympics he combined the 5000m and marathon, winning a bronze medal in the T42-46 marathon. In the 2000 Summer Paralympics he concentrated on the marathon where he won a silver in the T46 class and in the 2004 Summer Paralympics he concentrated on the 5000m but did not win a medal. In 2002 Brown moved to Gibraltar to live with his brother and his family and to work as a mental health nurse. In 2006 he competed in the World Road Running Championships, representing Gibraltar. Mark Stephen Brown (born 28 February 1963) is a Cook Islands politician and Prime Minister of the Cook Islands. He had previously served as Deputy Prime Minister under Henry Puna. He is a member of the Cook Islands Party. Early life Brown was born in 1963 in Avarua on Rarotonga, and educated at Nikao Maori School, Nikao Side School, Tereora College and Gisborne Boys' High School in New Zealand. He holds a Diploma in Public Sector Management from Massey University in New Zealand and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific. He has worked as a public servant, including as a policy advisor for the Prime Minister's Office and as head of the Ministry of Agriculture, and as a property developer.
