Mark Bowden (English Author)
Mark Bowden is an American author on body language and human behavior. Bowden is credited with pioneering Nonverbal communication, nonverbal analysis of human behavior where it pertains to influence and/or persuasion. His techniques have been used by Group of Seven, G7 leaders, including Prime Minister of Canada, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. His work is derived from evolutionary psychology, behavioral psychology, and embodied cognition. Most notable is Bowden's ''GesturePlane System'', or the specific use of open palm hand gestures in what he coins as the "''TruthPlane''" (the horizontal plane at navel height on the human body) to create feelings of trust, credibility, and confidence when communicating. Jacques Lecoq (15 December 1921 – 19 January 1999) was a French stage actor and acting movement coach. He was best known for his teaching methods in physical theatre, movement, and mime which he taught at the school he founded in Paris known as École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq. He taught there from 1956 until his death from a cerebral hemorrhage in 1999. Jacques Lecoq was known as the only noteworthy movement instructor and theatre pedagogue with a professional background in sports and sports rehabilitation in the twentieth century. Philippe Gaulier
Philippe Gaulier (born in Paris, 4 March 1943) is a French master clown, pedagogue, and professor of theatre. He is the founder of École Philippe Gaulier, a prestigious French theatre school in Étampes, outside Paris. He studied under Jacques Lecoq in the mid-1960s and was an instructor at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in the late 1970s.
