Maria Kuznetsova (novelist)
Maria Kuznetsova is a Ukrainian American novelist with two book publications, both from Random House. Early life and education Kuznetsova was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and moved to the U.S. at five years old with her family. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, her family became Jewish refugees in Alabama. Upon moving, she learned English, and eventually attended Duke University as an English major. She went on to receive master's degrees in creative writing from University of California, Davis and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She serves as an assistant professor in the English department at Auburn University. Writing Kuznetsova's debut novel ''Oksana, Behave!'' was published in 2019 by Random House. Maria Kuznetsova (wrestler)
Mariya Sergeyevna Kuznetsova (born 17 December 1997) is a Russian freestyle wrestler of Chuvash origin. She is a two-time bronze medalist at the European Wrestling Championships. Career Kuznetsova competed in the 65 kg event at the 2018 European Wrestling Championships held in Kaspiysk, Russia. In that same year, she won the gold medal in her event at the 2018 Russian National Women's Freestyle Wrestling Championships. In 2019, Kuznetsova represented Russia at the European Games in Minsk, Belarus and she won one of the bronze medals in the 62 kg event. A few months later, at the 2019 Military World Games held in Wuhan, China, she won the silver medal in the women's 62 kg event. In 2019, Kuznetsova also won a bronze medal in the 65 kg event at the European Wrestling Championships held in Bucharest, Romania. Maria Nikolaevna Kuznetsova (25 April 1966) (russian: Мария Николаевна Кузнецова, also spelled Maria Kuznetsova-Benois) was a 20th century Russian opera singer and dancer. Prior to the Revolution, Kuznetsova was one of the most celebrated opera singers in Imperial Russia, having worked with Richard Strauss, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Jules Massenet. Mariya Mikhailovna Kuznetsova (russian: Мария Михайловна Кузнецова; 14 April 1918 12 October 1990) was a Soviet fighter pilot who originally flew with the women's 586th Fighter Aviation Regiment but was later transferred to the 437th Fighter Aviation Regiment with Yekaterina Budanova, Lydia Litvyak, and several other members of the unit in September 1942. While she did not become an ace, she made it through Battle of Stalingrad unlike many of her colleagues transferred there. Civilian life Kuznetsova was born on 4 April 1918 to a Russian peasant family in Yazvishchi village, Moscow Governorate, RSFSR.
