Mario Maraschi
Mario Maraschi (28 August 1939 – 3 December 2020) was an Italian professional footballer and manager who played as a striker. In 2018, he was inducted into ACF Fiorentina Hall of Fame. Career In his youth, Maraschi played for Fanfulla, with which he also debuted in the 1956–57 IV Serie season. After two seasons at Pro Vercelli, he was bought by Milan, where he made his debut in Serie A. After brief spells at Lazio, Bologna, and Lanerossi Vicenza, he moved to Fiorentina in 1967. Here, he contributed to winning the 1968–69 Serie A, scoring 14 goals. In 1969, he debuted in a European competition, playing in the 1969–70 European Cup against Östers IF and scoring the winning goal. Lodi, Lombardy
Lodi ( , ; Ludesan: ) is a city and ''comune'' in Lombardy, northern Italy, primarily on the western bank of the River Adda. It is the capital of the province of Lodi. History Lodi was a Celtic village; in Roman times it was called, in Latin, Laus Pompeia (probably in honour of the consul Gnaeus Pompeius Strabo) and was known also because its position allowed many Gauls of ''Gallia Cisalpina'' to obtain Roman citizenship. It was in an important position where a vital Roman road crossed the River Adda. Lodi became the see of a diocese in the 3rd century. Saint Bassianus (San Bassiano) is the patron saint of the town. A free commune around 1000, it fiercely resisted the Milanese, who destroyed it in 1111. The old town corresponds to the modern Lodi Vecchio. 1969–70 European Cup
The 1969–70 season was the 15th in the history of the European Cup, a club football tournament organised by UEFA for the domestic league champions of its member associations. It was won by Feyenoord of the Netherlands, who beat Scottish club Celtic after extra time in the final at San Siro in Milan on 6 May 1970. It was the first time the title had been won by a club from the Netherlands, and sparked a period of Dutch dominance in the competition, as Ajax won the next three titles. For this season, tiebreaker playoffs were abandoned in favour of the away goals rule; if both teams had scored the same number of away goals, one side was eliminated by the toss of a coin, something that was required in two of the matches (marked on the table below by "c/t"). Östers IF
Östers Idrottsförening, commonly known as Östers IF or simply Öster, is a Swedish sports club located in Växjö, specializing in Association football, football, and playing in the second tier of Swedish football, Superettan. The club has previously also competed in ice hockey (Östers IF (ice hockey), see separate article), bandy, and bowling. Öster was formed on 20 April 1930 as Östers Fotbollförening, before adopting the name "Östers IF" in 1932. The club is affiliated to the Smålands Fotbollförbund.
