Mario Besesti
Mario Besesti (20 November 1894 – 21 June 1968) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Besesti began a career acting on stage and screen in 1932. He made his film debut in 1938 and among his most popular filmography includes the 1949 film ''The Mill on the Po''. Besesti was also well known as a voice dubber. Because of his strong voice and large build, he usually dubbed actors with the same stature such as Charles Laughton, Edward Arnold, Thomas Mitchell, Raymond Massey, Sydney Greenstreet, Charles Coburn and many more. Besesti was considered to be one of Italy's most significant, well-known dubbers during the Golden Ages. He worked for the Cooperativa Doppiatori Cinematografici and made collaborations with other dubbers which included Gualtiero De Angelis, Lauro Gazzolo, Carlo Romano, Wanda Tettoni and Nino Pavese. Nino Pavese
Nino Pavese (10 April 1904 – 21 December 1979) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Asti and the younger brother of actor and voice actor Luigi Pavese, he began his career on stage with a theatrical troupe in the early 1930s before moving on to cinema. Pavese appeared in over 49 films between 1936 and 1973. He made his debut film appearance in the 1936 film '' The Two Sergeants'' directed by Enrico Guazzoni. Pavese was often typically cast as villains in dramatic or adventure films. ''The Thief of Venice'' or ''Il Ladro di Venezia'' is a 1950 Italian film directed by John Brahm. The US title was "The Thief of Venice". It was released in the US two years after being made. Plot In 1575 Venice, the Doge has just died and Scarpa the Grand Inquisitor leads a plot to seize control of Venice. Disani, a popular admiral works to stop the Grand Inquisitor's power grab with the help of Lorenzo, one of his officers. They manage to get back to Venice in record time by promising the galley slaves their freedom. When they arrive back Disani is killed and Lorenzo goes into hiding.
