Marines, Let's Go
''Marines, Let's Go'' is a 1961 CinemaScope DeLuxe Color Korean War film about three Marine buddies (Tom Tryon, David Hedison and Tom Reese) on shore leave in Japan and at war in Korea. It was produced and directed by Raoul Walsh, who also wrote the story. Walsh had previously had successes with films about the U.S. Marine Corps in World War I (''What Price Glory? (1926 film), What Price Glory?''), the 1920s (''The Cock-Eyed World'' and ''Sadie Thompson (film), Sadie Thompson''), and World War II (''Battle Cry (film), Battle Cry''). This was the next-to-last film of Walsh's long directing career. Plot summary Four privates romp their way through occupied Japan while on leave, finding a little romance and some laughs. The Cock-Eyed World
''The Cock-Eyed World'' is a 1929 American pre-Code musical comedy feature film. One of the earliest "talkies", it was a sequel to '' What Price Glory?'' (1926), it was directed and written by Raoul Walsh and based on the Flagg and Quirt story by Maxwell Anderson, Tom Barry, Wilson Mizner, and Laurence Stallings. Fox Film Corporation released the film at the Roxy in New York on August 3, 1929. The film stars Victor McLaglen and Edmund Lowe, reprising their original roles, as well as Lili Damita. The picture was also released in a silent version on October 5, 1929. Plot Flagg (Victor McLaglen) and Quirt (Edmund Lowe) find themselves transferred from Russia to Brooklyn to South America, in each place squaring off over a local beauty. Jack Lukeman (born Seán Loughman 11 February 1973), usually simply known as Jack L, is an Irish songwriter, musician, record producer, vocal artist and broadcaster. History A native of Athy Co. Tom Reese (August 8, 1928 – December 12, 2017) was an American actor who appeared in many westerns on both the big- and small-screens. Early life Reese's father and uncle were country-western singers known as "The Allen Brothers," who traveled and performed bluegrass music with the family. Reese served two tours in the United States Marine Corps, and was a military policeman. His G.I. Bill enabled him to study dramatics at the American Theater Wing. Reese spent fifteen years on the road working nightclubs, studied with Lee Strasberg, and performed off-Broadway and in local TV shows.
