Marilyn Chambers (Home And Away)
Marilyn Chambers (also Bryant and Fisher) is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Emily Symons. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 18 May 1989. When Symons auditioned for the role she created a backstory for the character and dressed in a mini dress, stilettos and put on a breathy voice. She was successful and producer Andrew Howie cast her in the role. Writers introduced her as the girlfriend of established character Lance Smart (Peter Vroom). Marilyn is characterised as a bubbly and ditsy hairdresser. She has a distinct bouffant hairstyle and unique dress sense which includes high heel shoes. Marilyn has become one of the show's most iconic characters during her tenure. Emily Symons
Emily Symons (born 10 August 1969) is an Australian-born actress, active on both Australian and British television. She is known for playing Anne Costello in the short-lived soap opera '' Richmond Hill'' in 1988 and when that series ended, from 1989, she started playing Marilyn Chambers-Fisher in ''Home and Away''. After almost ten years in that role, Symons moved to the UK and was immediately cast as Louise Appleton in the British soap ''Emmerdale''. She also took part in the British show ''Dancing on Ice'' in 2007. She then returned to Australia in 2010 to reprise her role as Marilyn in ''Home and Away''. Norman Coburn (born 6 March 1937) is an Australian former actor best known for his television serial and soap opera roles. He started his early career in theatre, film and television in the United Kingdom in the late 1950s. Coburn became famous as High School headmaster Donald Fisher in the early years of soap opera '' Home and Away'', as one of 16 original cast members, he appeared from the pilot episode in 1988 until 2003, and reprised the character making brief sporadic returns between 2004 and 2007.
