Marieke Blaauw
Marieke Blaauw (born 1979, in Hilversum) is a Dutch animator. Life Blaauw was born in 1979 in Hilversum. She studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. She graduated in 2002. In 2005 she worked as an animator on the stop motion children series Miffy at studio Pedri in Ankeveen. In 2007 she co-founded animation studio Job, Joris & Marieke together with Job Roggeveen and Joris Oprins. Job, Joris & Marieke works on commissioned work, music videos and short animated films. In 2013 they released their animated short film MUTE. MUTE won, among others, the Grand Prix and the audience award at the Holland Animatie Film Festival in 2013. In 2014 the City of Utrecht commissioned Job, Joris & Marieke to make the short film/music video Bon Voyage! This film was to promote the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht in 2015. Hilversum
Hilversum () is a city and municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Located in the heart of the Gooi, it is the largest urban centre in that area. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller towns. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF, often stylized as tiff) is one of the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world, attracting over 480,000 people annually. The Cartoon d'Or was a European award for animated short films. History It was rewarded every year to the best European short film from Cartoon's partner festivals until it was suppressed in favor of the Emile Awards. Amongst this short list, a jury selects 5 films that will be screened during the Cartoon Forum (in order to promote 5 filmmakers each year) and one film will receive the Cartoon d'Or. Created in 1991, the Cartoon d'Or used to be the only completely European animation prize until the final award was given to Gabriel Harel for ''Yùl and the Snake'' in 2016.
