Marie Sherlock
Marie Sherlock is an Irish Labour Party politician who has been a Senator for the Labour Panel since April 2020. Early life and education Sherlock is from Carrignavar, County Cork. She attended Colaiste An Chroi Naofa before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin, a Master of Arts in Economics from University College Dublin, and a Master of Philosophy in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge. Political career She represented the Cabra-Glasnevin local electoral area on Dublin City Council from 2019 to 2020 and was the party's Head of Manifesto Development. At the Seanad election in March/April 2020, she was elected to Seanad Éireann on the Labour Panel. Declan Meenagh was co-opted to Sherlock's seat on Dublin City Council following her election to the Seanad. Seanad Éireann
Seanad Éireann (, ; "Senate of Ireland") is the upper house of the Oireachtas (the Irish legislature), which also comprises the President of Ireland and Dáil Éireann (the lower house). It is commonly called the Seanad or Senate and its members senators (''seanadóirí'' in Irish, singular: ''seanadóir''). Unlike Dáil Éireann, it is not directly elected but consists of a mixture of members chosen by various methods. Its powers are much weaker than those of the Dáil and it can only delay laws with which it disagrees, rather than veto them outright. It can introduce new legislation. Members Of The 26th Seanad
There are 60 members of the 26th Seanad Éireann, the upper house of the Oireachtas (Irish parliament). Of these, 49 2020 Seanad election, were elected on a restricted franchise, polls closing on 30–31 March 2020; subsequently the remaining 11 members were nominated by the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, on 27 June 2020. The 32nd Government of Ireland, government has a clear majority (40 to 20) in the Seanad. Of the 60 members, twenty-four (40%) are women, and thirty (50%) are first-time Senators. Phibsborough
Phibsborough (; ), also spelled Phibsboro, is a mixed commercial and residential neighbourhood on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. The Bradogue River crosses the area in a culvert, and the Royal Canal passes through its northern reaches, notably at Cross Guns Bridge. SIPTU
SIPTU (; ''Services, Industrial, Professional and Technical Union''; ga, An Ceardchumann Seirbhísí, Tionsclaíoch, Gairmiúil agus Teicniúil) is Ireland's largest trade union, with around 200,000 members.
