In Roman mythology, Marica was a nymph, the mother of Latinus. Latinus was fathered by Faunus, who was also occasionally referred to as the son of Marica. The sacred forest near Minturnae was dedicated to Marica. A lake nearby was also named after her. Maricá () is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Geography Maricá is a city of the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Area, located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and 25 miles away from the city of Rio de Janeiro. Maritsa or Maritza ( bg, Марица ), also known as Meriç ( tr, Meriç ) and Evros ( ell, Έβρος ), is a river that runs through the Balkans in Southeast Europe. Erebia
''Erebia'' is a Holarctic genus of brush-footed butterflies, family Nymphalidae. Most of the about 90–100 species (see also below) are dark brown or black in color, with reddish-brown to orange or more rarely yellowish wing blotches or bands. These usually bear black spots within, which sometimes have white center spots. This genus has found it easy to adapt to arid and especially cold conditions. Most of its members are associated with high-altitude lands, forest clearings or high latitude and tundra. ''Erebia'' species are frequent in the Alps, Rocky Mountains, subarctic and even Arctic regions, and the cooler parts of Central Asia. In fact, the North American term for these butterflies is alpines. Palearctic species are collectively known as ringlets or arguses. However, none of these terms is used exclusively for this genus. Sérgio Silva de Souza Júnior (born 24 September 1979), better known as Maricá, is a Brazilian former professional footballer, who played as a right back. Career Player of the under-17 team at the 1995 World Cup, he had a meteoric rise at Vasco, standing out mainly in the 1997 Campeonato Brasileiro campaign. Ciprian Andrei Marica (; born 2 October 1985) is a Romanian former footballer and minority shareholder of Farul Constanța. He played as a centre forward. Club career Dinamo București Marica's first professional club team was Dinamo București, from the city in which he was born. He started to gain attention even though he only played 23 games (scoring four goals) in three years with the club. Shakhtar Donetsk Ciprian transferred to the Ukrainian top club and played his so far best seasons with them. He gained international experience, getting to play in the UEFA Cup European competition. Marica Bodrožić (born 1973) is a German writer of Croatian descent. She was born in in Cista Provo, Croatia in the former Yugoslavia. She moved to Germany as a child and currently lives in Berlin. Bodrožić writes primarily in the German language. She is fluent in multiple genres, including essays, novels, poems, and stories. She has worked as a literary translator and a teacher of creative writing. Marica Malović-Đukić ( sr-cyr, Марица Маловић-Ђукић; born 1949) is a Serbian historian, specialized in the economic and social history of maritime communes in the Middle Ages, with special focus on Kotor and Dubrovnik. She finished studying history at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in 1973, with the work ''Длугошев списак српских градова'' for which she received the October Award of the city of Belgrade. Marica Stražmešter (Serbian Cyrillic: Марица Cтражмештер, born 28 August 1981) is a two-time Serbian Olympic swimmer.
