Marianne Winslett
Marianne Southall Winslett is a professor emerita of computer science at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, specializing in databases. She is known for her "possible models" approach to belief revision. Winslett earned her Ph.D. in 1986 from Stanford University under the supervision of Gio Wiederhold. She joined the UIUC faculty in 1987. In 2006 she was named a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery "for contributions to information management and security". SIGMOD
SIGMOD is the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Management of Data, which specializes in large-scale data management problems and databases. The annual ACM SIGMOD Conference, which began in 1975, is considered one of the most important in the field. While traditionally this conference had always been held within North America, it took place in Paris in 2004, Beijing in 2007, Athens in 2011, and Melbourne in 2015.
