Marianna Egorova (russian: Марианна Игоревна Егорова; born 6 August 1997) is a Russian female handball player for Zvezda Zvenigorod in the Russian Super League. She also represented Russia in the 2016 Women's Junior World Handball Championship, placing as runners-up. On 14 March 2020, she extended her contract with Zvezda Zvenigorod, until the summer of 2021. Maykop
Maykop (russian: Майкоп, p=mɐjˈkop Help:IPA/Russian, mɐj'kop); ady, Мыекъуапэ, Mıéquapə ) is the capital city of the Republic of Adygea in Russia, located on the right bank of the Belaya River (Kuban), Belaya River (a tributary of the Kuban River). Russian Women's Handball Super League
The Russian Women's Handball Superleague is the premier women's handball competition in Russia. Currently eleven clubs take part in the competition, with the top eight playing the championship play-offs. The Russian Championship's leading teams have been successful in EHF's competitions. Zvezda Zvenigorod won the Champions League and the EHF Cup, while Dynamo Volgograd, Istochnik Rostov and Lada Togliatti have won either the EHF Cup or the Cup Winners' Cup. The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball. IHF is responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1957. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event for athletes between 15 and 18 years old, organized by the International Olympic Committee.
