Mariamjvari Strict Nature Reserve
Mariamjvari Strict Nature Reserve ( ka, მარიამჯვრის სახელმწიფო ნაკრძალი) is a protected area in Sagarejo Municipality, Kakheti region of Georgia on the southern slopes of Gombori Range. History Mariamjvari Nature Reserve was founded in 1935 with the purpose of preserving untouched landscapes of relic ''Sosnowskyi pine'' ('' Pinus sosnowskyi''). Presently Mariamjvari Strict Nature Reserve is part of Georgia's ''Protected Areas'' which also includes Korugi Managed Reserve and Iori Managed Reserve. Flora Most of the reserve landscape is covered with forest. Relict ''Sosnovskyi pine'' of Caucasus is spread at 800–1800 m above sea level. Hornbeam

Beech

Sagarejo ( ka, საგარეჯო) is a town in Kakheti, Georgia. It is situated east of Georgia's capital, Tbilisi, and has the population of 10,871 (2014 census). It serves as an administrative center of the Sagarejo district. The town is traditionally considered a chief settlement of the Gare-Kakheti area (Outer Kakheti). The settlement is first mentioned in written records in the 11th century under the name of Tvali, literally meaning "an eye". Later, it came to be known as Sagarejo, i.e., "of Gareja", indicating that the area was owned by the David Gareja monastery. It acquired the town's status in 1962.
