Mariah Williams
Mariah Williams (born 31 May 1995) is an Australian field hockey player. She represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Personal life Williams was born and raised in Parkes, New South Wales. She plays national representative hockey for her home state. She also featured as the a headline player for New South Wales in the launch of their new premier team, NSW Pride, which will compete in the inaugural Hockey One league in 2019. In 2017, Williams was honoured by her home town council after a new synthetic hockey pitch was named after her. Career Junior national team Williams first played for the 'Jillaroos' team in 2013, at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in January. Williams again represented the team at the Junior Oceania Cup in February, which qualified the team for the 2013 Junior World Cup. Parkes, New South Wales
Parkes is a town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the main settlement in the local government area of Parkes Shire. Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre
The Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre, also known as the State Hockey Centre of New South Wales is a multi-use stadium in Sydney, Australia. It was built in 1998 as part of Sydney Olympic Park sporting complex, having held matches for the field hockey events at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Its current capacity is 8,000 people, with seating capacity for 4,000. For the Sydney Olympic Games capacity was boosted to 15,000 through the use of temporary stands. Hartleyvale Stadium
Hartleyvale Stadium is a field hockey stadium in Observatory, Cape Town, South Africa. It was previously used as a soccer stadium by Cape Town City in the National Football League era, as well as by Hellenic during the late 1980s. It is currently a hockey stadium, with smaller fields nearby still used for soccer by local amateur club sides. In 1996 the Hartleyvale Stadium was upgraded at a cost of 20 million rand. The designed was by ACG Architects in association with GAPP Architects as a regional and national sporting facility to boost South Africa's bid to host the 2004 Olympics. The Australia women's national field hockey team (nicknamed the Hockeyroos) are, as of January 2019, ranked third in the world.
