Maria And Bogdan Kalinowski
Maria Makowska-Kalinowska (1945 – 14 November 2020) and Bogdan Kalinowski (1939 – 9 November 2017) were a married couple from Poznań, Poland, known as the most avid filmgoers in Poland. They watched films in cinemas of Poznań regularly from 1973 on. In 2010 alone they watched 563 films. Altogether, between 1973 and 2010 they had viewed over 11,000 films together; by mid-2015 the total exceeded 13,000. Biography The couple met in 1973 during a library course. They married 13 years later, in 1986. Both spent most of their lives working in school libraries in Poznań before retiring. As the couple had to leave the flat they occupied, in 2010 they received a small flat above the Muza cinema from the city of Poznań. The refurbishment of the flat was financed through public fundraising and through not-for-profit screenings of various films in the Muza cinema. Poznań () is a city on the River Warta in west-central Poland, within the Greater Poland region. ''King, Queen, Knave'' is a 1972 West German comedy film directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, based on the novel of the same name by Vladimir Nabokov. Plot Adopted by his rich Uncle Charles and taken to Germany on the death of his parents, the inept British teenager Frank is introduced to the free-wheeling 1970s European lifestyle and begins to fantasise about his uncle's glamorous Italian wife Martha. She seduces Frank and then tries to persuade him to kill her husband so that they can inherit his money. Jerzy Skolimowski
Jerzy Skolimowski (, born 5 May 1938) is a Polish film director, screenwriter, dramatist and actor. A graduate of the prestigious National Film School in Łódź, Skolimowski has directed more than twenty films since his 1960 début ''Oko wykol'' (''The Menacing Eye''). In 1967 he was awarded the Golden Bear prize for his film '' Le départ''. Among his other notable films is '' Deep End'' (1970), starring Jane Asher and John Moulder Brown. He lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years where he painted in a figurative, expressionist mode and occasionally acted in films. He returned to Poland, and to film making as a writer and director, after a 17-year hiatus with '' Cztery noce z Anną'' (''Four Nights with Anna'') in 2008. ''A Girl with Guitar'' (russian: Девушка с гитарой) is 1958 Soviet musical comedy film directed by Alexander Feinzimmer. After the success of the film ''Carnival Night'' starring Lyudmila Gurchenko the script of the film ''A Girl with a Guitar'' was written counting on her popularity. The film was shot on the eve of the 6th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Moscow in the summer of 1957, and became the first Soviet feature film dedicated to this significant event. The film premiered on September 1, 1958. The film was a success with the audience.
