Maria Vigeland
Maria Vigeland (13 March 1903 – 8 August 1983) was a Norwegian painter and sculptor. Biography She was born in Copenhagen. She was the daughter of Emanuel Vigeland and niece of Gustav Vigeland. She attended the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry where he studied under Eivind Nielsen 1920-25 and under Olaf Willums 1928–29. She was trained at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts under Wilhelm Rasmussen in 1930. She later attended École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where she trained under Lucien Simon. Her religious interests led her to decorating churches and making monuments. In her early years, she studied art in France and Italy. The studies would have particular significance for her stained glass. Vigeland decorated several burial chapels in Oslo, a crematorium in Drammen, an altarpiece and several pictures for Bredtveit Prison. Østre Aker Church
Østre Aker Church is a parish church at the neighborhood of Ulven in northeastern part of Oslo, Norway. The church building from 1860 in neo-Gothic style has exterior walls of brick, while the interior walls are covered with wood. The master masonry brothers Carl, Ferdinand and Albert Unger was commissioned to make the church the most alike Vestre Aker Church as possible. Østre Aker Church was consecrated 5 September 1860 with, among others, Prince Oscar present. Electricity was installed in 1925 and the church got chandeliers in 1928. Drammen
Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger. Location Drammen is located west of the Oslofjord and is situated approximately 44 km South-west of Oslo. Tønsberg
Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tønsberg. The city is the most populous metropolis in the district of Vestfold with a population of 52,419 in 2019. Lovisenberg Church
Lovisenberg Church ( Norwegian: Lovisenberg kirke) is a church in the neighborhood of Lovisenberg in the district of St. Hanshaugen in Oslo, Norway. The church is a basilica in Romanesque Revival style. The building is made of red brick and has a gable roof covered with slate. Stained glass is coloured glass as a material or works created from it. Throughout its thousand-year history, the term has been applied almost exclusively to the windows of churches and other significant religious buildings.
