Maria Koterbska
Maria Koterbska (13 July 1924 – 18 January 2021) was a Polish singer who was particularly popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Her biggest hits include ''Augustowskie noce'', ''Brzydula i rudzielec'', ''Karuzela'', ''Parasolki'', ''Serduszko puka w rytmie cza cza'', ''Wrocławska piosenka'', and ''Do grającej szafy grosik wrzuć''. Career She made her debut on New Year's Eve 1949. In the 1950s, she became a regular guest on the Sunday broadcast of Radio Katowices ''Melodie świata'' broadcast, which became the most popular by her performances. In the mid-50s, she appeared at the Satirical Theatre in Kraków. These two years in the theater performances were of great importance for the development of her career, helping to change her repertoire - from jazz to theatre songs- which required a slightly different handling of the voice. Sopot Festival
The Sopot International Song Festival or Sopot Festival (later called ''Sopot Music Festival Grand Prix'', ''Sopot Top of the Top Festival'' from 2012–13 and ''Polsat Sopot Festival'' in 2014) is an annual international song contest held in Sopot, Poland. It is the biggest Polish music festival altogether with the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, and one of the biggest song contests in Europe. The contest was organised and transmitted live by the public Polish Television (TVP) between 1994 and 2004. The following year, the concert was broadcast by the private media station TVN for the first time and remained on TVN until 2009. From 2012 to 2014, the concert was broadcast and organised by Polsat. Bielsko
Bielsko (german: Bielitz, cs, Bílsko) was until 1950 an independent town situated in Cieszyn Silesia, Poland. In 1951 it was joined with Biała Krakowska to form the new town of Bielsko-Biała. Bielsko constitutes the western part of that town. Jacek Lech (born Leszek Zerhau; 15 April 1947 in Bielsko-Biała – 25 March 2007 in Katowice) was a popular Polish singer. Biography In 1966, he joined the group Czerwono-Czarni. The song ''Bądź dziewczyną moich marzeń'' ("Be the girl of my dreams") became an instant hit in Poland. In 1967 he received an award at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole for the song ''Pozwólcie śpiewać ptakom'' ("Let the birds sing"). In 1972, he left Czerwono-Czarni. In 1973, Lech was injured in a car accident and took a year off to recuperate. In 1974, he released his first solo album, ''Bądź szczęśliwa''. In 2006, Lech was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
