Maria Järvenhelmi
Maria Järvenhelmi (born 14 June 1975) is a Finnish actress and singer. She has appeared in 27 films and television shows since 1990. She starred in the film ''Lights in the Dusk'', which was entered into the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Järvenhelmi is also part of the Finnish band Notkea Rotta where she is known by her stage name Meno-Anu. Lights In The Dusk
''Lights in the Dusk'' ( fi, Laitakaupungin valot) is a 2006 Finnish comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by Aki Kaurismäki. Starring Janne Hyytiäinen, Ilkka Koivula, and Maria Järvenhelmi, the film was presented at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. It is the last installment in Kaurismäki's "Finland" trilogy after '' Drifting Clouds'' (1996) and ''The Man Without a Past'' (2002). The film is about a security guard who is set up in a robbery by a femme fatale who exploits his gullibility and loyalty. Classical music is used as background throughout much of the film, including excerpts from the work of the famous Swedish tenor Jussi Björling. 2006 Cannes Film Festival
The 59th Cannes Film Festival was held from 17 to 28 May 2006. Twenty films from eleven countries were in competition for the Palme d'Or. The President of the Official selection Jury was Wong Kar-wai, the first Chinese director to preside over the jury. English director Ken Loach won the Palme d'Or with his movie '' The Wind That Shakes the Barley''. Other winners were Pedro Almodóvar (Best Screenplay, ''Volver'') and Alejandro González Iñárritu (Best Director, ''Babel''). ''Rollo and the Spirit of the Woods'' (also titled ''Rolli'', fi, Rölli ja metsänhenki) is a 2001 Finnish fantasy film directed by Olli Saarela. It is the second film based on the television series ''Rölli'', the first being ''Rölli – hirmuisia kertomuksia'' (1991). Plot Hairy and rowdy trolls called rolleys sail to a land inhabited by more peace-loving elves. When the rolleys arrive to the elf village, they scare the elves away and settle down in the village.
