MarÃa Dolores Alibés i Riera (2 January 1941 Vidrà , Osona - 8 November 2009 Sant Pau, Ripollès) was a Catalan author of children's books. Vidrà is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Osona in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Ges river, between the Bellmunt and Milany ranges, in the north of the ''comarca''. Osona () is a comarca situated in Catalonia, Northeast Spain. Its capital is Vic. Its population in 2001 was 129,543. Osona covers roughly the same area as the historic Catalan county of Osona. The name Osona comes from ''Ausetans'', a group of Iberian people who had their capital in ''Ausa'' (today Vic); the Romans called the area ''Ausone'' or ''Ausona''. While most of the ''comarca'' is within the province of Barcelona, the municipalities of Espinelves, Vidrà and Viladrau form part of the province of Girona. Juan López Fernández
Juan López Fernández (born 13 March 1939), better known by his pen name Jan, is a Spanish comic book writer and artist, most famous for his creation Superlópez. Biography He was born in the town of Toral de los Vados in the province of León. Completely deaf from the age of six, his parents encouraged him to draw and in 1956, he began to work in a studio in order to learn animation. He emigrated to Cuba in 1959 where he worked in ''Televisión Cubana'' (Cuban Television) and the ''Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográficos'' (ICAIC) (Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry). He also collaborated on some periodicals for children at this time, and later, on comic books and newspaper supplements. Jan returned to Spain in 1969, and worked in the now defunct publishing house Editorial Bruguera until 1985 where he helped illustrate the work of other comic book artists.
