Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir
Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir (born 25 July 1986) is an Icelandic former footballer who played in the striker position. She is the all-time top goalscorer of the Iceland national team and competed for her country at the UEFA Women's Championships in 2009 and 2013. In a club career sometimes disrupted by injury, Margrét Lára represented ÍBV and Valur of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild, Duisburg and Turbine Potsdam of the Frauen-Bundesliga, and Linköpings and Kristianstads DFF of the Damallsvenskan. Margrét Lára is the elder sister of Elísa Viðarsdóttir, who also played for Iceland's national team. Early life Margrét Lára was born in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland to Viðar Elíasson and his wife Guðmunda Bjarnadóttir. Viðar had played football for ÍBV and later became chairman of the club. Vestmannaeyjar
Vestmannaeyjar (, sometimes anglicized as Westman Islands) is a municipality and archipelago off the south coast of Iceland. The largest island, Heimaey, has a population of 4,414, most of whom live in the archipelago's main town, Vestmannaeyjabær. The other islands are uninhabited, although six have single hunting cabins. Vestmannaeyjar came to international attention in 1973 with the eruption of Eldfell volcano, which destroyed many buildings and forced a month-long evacuation of the entire population to mainland Iceland. Elísa Viðarsdóttir
Elísa Viðarsdóttir (born 26 May 1991) is an Icelandic footballer who plays as a defender in the Úrvalsdeild for Valur and the Iceland women's national football team. She is the younger sister of Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir, Iceland's record goalscorer. Like Margrét Lára, she began her career with Úrvalsdeild club ÍBV. Club career She has played for ÍBV since 2007 with her first league match coming in 2008. Kristianstads DFF, the Swedish club where Margrét Lára was playing, gave a trial to Elísa before the start of their 2013 Damallsvenskan season. During Elísa's visit she played in a pre-season friendly but Kristianstads had no immediate plans to sign her to a contract. The UEFA Women's Champions League, previously called the UEFA Women's Cup (2001–2009), is a European women's association football competition. Eiður Guðjohnsen
Eiður Smári Guðjohnsen (transliterated as Eidur Smari Gudjohnsen; born 15 September 1978) is an Icelandic professional football coach and former player who played as a forward. Eiður saw his greatest success in England and Spain with Chelsea and Barcelona respectively, where he won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga with the latter and the League Cup and Premiership twice with the former. Frauen DFB Pokal
The DFB-Pokal Frauen is the main national women's football cup competition in Germany, thus the female counterpart to the DFB-Pokal. It was created in 1980, and since 1991 includes Eastern teams as well. The most recent champions are VfL Wolfsburg (five consecutive titles). FFC Frankfurt has won the most titles with nine. The final has, with the exception of the 1983 final, always been held on the same day prior to the men's final. Since 1985 the final has thus been held in Berlin. In professional football, a transfer is the action taken whenever a player under contract moves between clubs. It refers to the transferring of a player's registration from one association football club to another. In general, the players can only be transferred during a transfer window and according to the rules set by a governing body (fulfilling the requirements of FIFA, continental and national bodies regulating the purchasing and selling clubs). A negotiated transfer fee is agreed financial compensation paid from an interested club, to the club that possesses the player's exclusive contracted playing rights. When a player moves from one club to another, their old contract is terminated whilst the player and their new destination club will both negotiate on new contract terms (or have earlier mutually agreed on the personal terms).
