Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher (; 13 October 19258 April 2013) was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party (UK), Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She was the first female British prime minister and the longest-serving British prime minister of the 20th century. As prime minister, she implemented economic policies that became known as Thatcherism. is an anime television series produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Hiroshi Saitô, which premiered on January 6, 1980, and ending its run on December 28 the same year. It is based on the well-known and popular 1876 novel ''The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'' by Mark Twain (and partially on ''The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn''). The series was broadcast on the World Masterpiece Theater, an animation staple on Fuji TV, that each year showcased an animated version of a classical book or story of Western literature, and was originally titled ''Tom Sawyer no Bōken''.
