Margaret Kenyatta
Margaret Gakuo Kenyatta (born 8 April 1964) is a Kenyan educator who served as First Lady of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. She is the wife of Uhuru Kenyatta, the immediate former Kenyan president. Biography Margaret Wanjiru Gakuo was born on 8 April 1964 to a Kenyan father, Njuguna Gakuo, a former director of the Kenya Railways Corporation, and a German mother, Magdalena. She attended St. Andrews School in Molo, Kenya, and received a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. Social activism Kenyatta has voiced her opinion on a number of social issues in Kenya ranging from mother and child wellness, including a mother baby hospital unit named after her. Kenyatta has encouraged patients to fight cancer by early screening for breast, cervical and prostate cancer and tackling diabetes by encouraging a healthy lifestyle. The first lady of Kenya is the title held by the wife of the president of Kenya. The country's present First Lady, first lady is Rachel Ruto, wife of president William Ruto, who took office on 13 September 2022. First ladies of Kenya Daniel arap Moi and his wife Lena Moi separated in 1974. However, they remained married until her death on 22 July 2004. Ngina reportedly retained her first lady status even after the death of her husband in 1978. Narok County
Narok County is a county in Kenya with an estimated population of 1,157,873 according to 2019 Census, with the dominant ethnic group being the Maasai. Its capital and largest town is Narok. The other major urban centre in Narok County is Kilgoris. Narok County Government was formed by the County Governments Act of 2012 as prescribed in the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. Jomo Kenyatta (22 August 1978) was a Kenyan anti-colonialism, colonial activist and politician who governed Kenya as its Prime Minister of Kenya, Prime Minister from 1963 to 1964 and then as its first President of Kenya, President from 1964 to his death in 1978. He was the country's first indigenous head of government and played a significant role in the transformation of Kenya from Kenya Colony, a colony of the British Empire into an independent republic. Beyond Zero
The Beyond Zero Campaign is an initiative launched by Kenya's First Lady, Margaret Gakuo Kenyatta. Its goals are to improve maternal and child health in Kenya, and to reduce new HIV infections among children. The campaign was unveiled in 2013 on World AIDS Day, and launched on 24 January 2014. Many international organizations have joined Kenyatta and the Kenyan government in supporting Beyond Zero. The campaign's first action was the donation of fully equipped mobile clinics to several counties in Kenya during the summer of 2014, beginning with Taita Taveta County. Objectives Beyond Zero has the overall goal of eliminating all preventable maternal and child deaths in Kenya by 2023. Kianda School is a private, all-girls day school with a Catholic ethos located in the Westlands area of Nairobi, Kenya. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta (born 26 October 1961) is a Kenyan politician who served as the fourth president of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. Kenyatta was chosen by Daniel Arap Moi as his preferred successor, but Kenyatta was defeated by opposition leader Mwai Kibaki in the 2002 election and Kibaki replaced Moi as president.
