Margaret B. Kelly
Margaret Blake Kelly (born September 17, 1935) is an American businesswoman and former politician from Missouri. She served as the State Auditor of Missouri from 1984 to 1999. She was the first woman to hold statewide office in Missouri, and the fourth Certified Public Accountant to hold the auditor's position. She is a Republican. Kelly was born in Crystal City, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in 1957. She also received a MBA from Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State University) in 1975 and earned her CPA certification in 1982. Before entering public life, Kelly worked for 20 years for various private sector accounting firms. Kelly's first elected position was as Cole County Auditor. State Auditor Of Missouri
The state auditor of Missouri is an elected constitutional officer in the executive branch of government of the U.S. state of Missouri. Thirty-eight individuals have occupied the office of state auditor since statehood. The incumbent is Nicole Galloway, a Democrat. Election and qualification The state auditor serves a four-year term, and is the only state executive branch official elected in even-numbered non-presidential election years. To be eligible for the office of state auditor, a candidate must meet the same eligibility requirements prescribed for the governor. Powers and duties The state auditor is charged by Article IV, Section 13 of the Missouri Constitution with supervising and auditing the receipt and expenditure of public funds and prescribing appropriate systems of accounts for all public offices, be they state agencies or local governments. James Matthes Talent (born October 18, 1956) is an American politician who was a U.S. Senator from Missouri from 2002 to 2007. He is a Republican and resided in the St. Louis area while serving in elected office. William Patrick Kenney (born January 20, 1955) is an American former quarterback who spent nine years in the National Football League with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1980 to 1988 and a former politician who spent 8 years as a Missouri State Senator.
