Adil Omar
Adil Omar (born 17 May 1991) is a recording artist, rapper, record producer, singer and songwriter from Islamabad, Pakistan. He released his debut album and film, '' Transcendence'', on 8 July 2018. In addition to being a solo artist, he is also involved in songwriting and production for other artists. Biography and early life Omar was born in London, England, but grew up in Islamabad. He lost his father at the age of 10 due to alcoholism and saved his mother's life at 11. In 1998, Omar's father was falsely imprisoned which was revealed in a series of prison letters posted to Omar's social media. He had a stutter which he learned to manage through rapping. He was in and out of multiple schools and eventually dropped out at 17 to pursue a career in music. Alternative hip hop (also known as alternative rap) is a subgenre of hip hop music that encompasses a wide range of styles that are not typically identified as mainstream. AllMusic defines it as comprising " hip hop groups that refuse to conform to any of the traditional stereotypes of rap, such as gangsta, bass, hardcore, and party rap. Instead, they blur genres drawing equally from funk and pop/rock, as well as jazz, soul, reggae, and even folk." SNKM (an abbreviation for Super Natural Kings & Masters, formerly Saturday Night Killing Machine and Sonic Nocturnal Kinetic Movement) is a duo of Pakistani musicians Adil Omar and Talal Qureshi, with both artists sharing production, songwriting and vocal duties. SNKM launched in 2015 as Saturday Night Killing Machine and made their official US debut at SXSW the same year. In 2016, they joined the lineup for Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party. ''Transcendence'' (stylized as ''TRANSCENDENCE'') is the debut studio album by Pakistani rapper-producer Adil Omar. It was released independently on July 8, 2018 with a film of the same title to accompany it. The visual album was also directed by Adil Omar. The album was recorded in 2017 in Islamabad and features Elliphant, SNKM, Talal Qureshi and Tim Armstrong of Rancid. The album also included recreations of 1970's and 80's era Lollywood soundtracks, but rather than relying on sampling, Omar reached out to some of the original creators such as Ustad Tafu and M. Ellinor Miranda Salome Olovsdotter (born 8 October 1985), known professionally as Elliphant, is a Swedish singer, rapper and songwriter. Her sound was initially created together with the Swedish production duo Jungle, which consists of Tim Denéve and Ted Krotkiewski. Talal Qureshi is a Pakistani record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. Life and career Talal Qureshi was born on 2 April 1988 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
