Mardy, Monmouthshire
The Mardy ( cy, Y Maerdy) is a village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. Location Mardy is located immediately to the north of the market town of Abergavenny. On old maps, the Mardy has the Welsh spelling Maerdy. History and amenities The Mardy has a close community and a varied mix of housing types and ages ranging from old farms recently built executive style homes. There is church one mile further north at Llantilio Pertholey. When the old Llantilio Pertholey Junior and infants mixed school was closed a new one was opened adjacent to the Mardy World War II camp but retained the name Llantilio Pertholey School. Governance Mardy is also an electoral ward, formed from part of the Llantilio Pertholey community. Mardy Collins
Maurice Rodney "Mardy" Collins (born August 4, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player. He completed his college basketball career at Temple University, and was drafted by the New York Knicks with the 29th pick of the first round of the 2006 NBA draft. Collins played for the Knicks for two seasons and then played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2008 to 2010. Since 2011, Collins has played in various international leagues. High school career Collins attended Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia, as did NBA players Aaron McKie and Rasheed Wallace. College career Scouts were impressed by Collins' defense and team play. He totaled 89 steals for his 2005–06 season at Temple University, primarily by stepping into passing lanes. Mardy Simpson Fish (born December 9, 1981) is an American former professional tennis player. He was a hardcourt specialist. He is one of several American tennis players who rose to prominence in the early 2000s.Fish won six tournaments on the main ATP Tour and reached the final of four Masters Series events: Cincinnati in 2003 and 2010, Indian Wells in 2008, and Montreal in 2011. ''Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'' is the debut studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006 by Domino Recording Company and on 21 February 2006 in the United States. The album includes their first two singles "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and " When the Sun Goes Down", as well as re-recorded versions of both tracks from the band's debut EP, ''Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys.'' This is the only Arctic Monkeys album with bassist Andy Nicholson, as he left the band shortly after the album's release. Forming in 2002, Arctic Monkeys frequently gave away free demo CDs to fans at gigs, which resulted in fans uploading the band's music to social media sites.
