Marcélia Cartaxo (born 27 October 1963) is a Brazilian actress. She has appeared in more than 30 films and television shows since 1985. She won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 36th Berlin International Film Festival for her role in ''Hour of the Star''. The Silver Bear for Best Actress (german: Silberner Bär/Beste Darstellerin) was an award presented at the Berlin International Film Festival from 1956 to 2020. It was given to an actress who has delivered an outstanding performance and was chosen by the International Jury from the films in the Competition slate at the festival. 36th Berlin International Film Festival
The 36th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held 14–25 February 1986. The festival opened with ''Ginger and Fred'' by Federico Fellini, which played out of competition at the festival. The Golden Bear was awarded to West German film '' Stammheim'' directed by Reinhard Hauff. The retrospective was in honour of German actress and film producer Henny Porten and the homage was dedicated to American film director Fred Zinnemann. ''Amélia'' is a 2001 Brazilian comedy-drama film directed by Ana Carolina, inspired by the visit of French actress Sarah Bernhardt to Brazil, in 1905. In the film, the actress is under a professional and personal crisis, but is induced by her Brazilian housekeeper, Amélia, to start performing in Rio de Janeiro.
